Yes, there is something else to do all the time. My wife absolutely loves to hear, "When I'm done with this I just gotta do that". She's been very understanding and supportive, but at some point it has to end, I just don't know where.
Hopefully, tomorrow, I will have my crossover from ORD.
While I paint all those parts, I will be working on brake lines and bleeding. My MC has drained itself through the pinched off lines. Not pinched off well enough I guess. So I will start by pressure bleeding from the wheels back to flush the lines, then bench bleed the MC, hook up the lines, and hopefully have good brakes. I'm hoping I don't have to screw with the proportioning valve. I'm kinda counting on Dremu's posts about the MC and stock system being good enough for the D60 and 14ff discs.

Bob, my personal UPS guy, brought me presents today, YAHOO!
As soon as I post this, I'm out to the barn to mask, clean, prime and paint my new parts!
I also got the short SS lines so I can get to bending my hard lines for the rear discs. Then I can finish the brake system. By then, the steering parts should be dry enough to get them installed by the end of the weekend!

Crossover is done!
I got the crossover steering installed today. Got the steering arm on and the pass. side cover over to the driver's side. Then went to my step-daughter's softball game. It was raining, so I didn't miss much working on the truck. The sun came back out towards the end of the game. Got home and finished the install. My steering wheel is off just a short, curly one, but I can't shorten the link any more. The bottom post on the wheel is at the 27 or 28 min. mark, instead of 30. I'll see how much it bugs me while driving, then maybe cut off 1/4" of rod. I want to drive it first to see how far off it really is. The install was actually easier than I expected. I also own an 1 1/4" and 1 5/16" sockets now. Made the nut on the sector shaft easier to remove than using a pipe wrench

I'm diggin the new steering, I have my 2wd box, but the rest of the goodies are still a ways down on my list. Everything is coming together great, I do have 1 question/concern, the passenger side u bolt and spring plate bolts. That ubolt looks a little bent in , are the plates for a 60 or were they from a 44/10 bolt?

To tell you the truth, I don't know. They were on my '88 and held up to well over 500hp with an idiot (me) at the wheel. I may move the axle forward an inch, so that will be the time to look into it. Thanks for noticing though, I need all the help I can get. This is all new to me.It looks to me like you are going quite a bit further than me with your build. I expect my body to rapidly go to sh!t, mostly due to the relative closeness of the trees in my woods.
I may be wrong, but it looks like the spring plates may have been from a 44 or a 10 bolt. The 60 has a larger diameter tube so the hole spacing on a 60 plate is wider, this would explain why the u bolt looks "pinched" in at the top. If you are going to move the axle forward you will need new plates anyway (Kert makes some nice ones for a resonable price) so that will fix that problem.
Ya I am going alot further then I had orignally planned, but this is my 8th K5 in 18 years (had a 83 when I was 16) and I just decided to do this one the way I always wanted to. I'm already planning K5 #9, I aquired an 82 for free a while back , trashed body, but I'm thinking truggy or trazer. That build thread is a ways off though (I'm in deep enough already)

Dang, I've had my crossover parts for months and still don't have them installed.
I guess I should finish my D60 one of these days huh?

, I waited a month for mine to get here. Had them painted and installed in a few days. I'm one of those real "patient" people!Have fun at the drags!!

Sometimes i get so impatient, i end up installing the part while the paint is still tacky......lol, its bad
If you look real close to anything painted blue on the truck, you can see alot of smudges and finger prints. Otherwise...ME TOO!!

It steers great, it stops on a dime, no rear wheel lockup unless the fronts lock too! Everything seems to be working the way it should.
Things I still need to do: HAD driveline emergency brake, it should be on its way! Then get the driveshafts altered and pinion angles corrected!
Brackets for the rear brake lines, hard and soft. Right now they are zip tied to the axle.

I think I will have Brian, at TBI Chips.com., burn me a chip for the manual tranny. It idles at 1200rpms, a little high sitting at an intersection or trying to back into a tight space. I'm hoping he can add a little performance due to the dual exhaust and headers, any little bit will help.
Reverse lights need to be wired in. The spade connectors on the tranny switch are broken off. I would also like to add auxiliary backup lights.

On another note, the ability to drive the Blazer comes at a great time. On the way home from the auto parts store with my rear brake lines, my Jeep tranny took a dump on me. I had to have a neighbor drag me home the last 3 miles. Oh well, that's just how things seem to go sometimes. Now I have all summer to decide wether to fix it,(just hit 200,000mi. a month ago) or sell it as is and buy another winter beater?
