Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

I would sell you my superlift 2.5" HD springs but they ride like crap, and flex like crap, so they need to die! scrap pile it is is :)

Cheapest route would probably be Rough Country for a 4". I'm not sure how high you wanna go. But i put a 4" on mine and i got the shocks, all new springs, steering arm and the hardware for around 500 bucks. They ride a little rough, but in all honesty it's not too bad.

Im lookin for a 3". It looks like the shackle flip would be cheapest that ive seen.

I don't really know... haha, just thought I'd ask. Its just one of those things that I would like to have if I came across a good deal. I don't really HAVE to have one, just might be a good thing to have when in the woods camping or something. I've seen them priced from $100 to $200, and I would be on the lower end of that. No big deal really, and if you're in Michigan, it probably wouldn't be worth the shipping...:dunno:

Maybe I'll just make one :D

Yah its what 5' long, prolly would be $50 in shipping or some crazy thing

Im getting these, soon as the tax return comes in hopefully

I want something close to this
33s with no lift but looks like about the same wheel space i have now with 32s so maybe a 1" block all the way around, i should be able to get away with that and not need shocks right?? Compare the wheel well space with mine. Let me know what you think, i think this truck looks perfect. Exactly to the T what i want.

if you aren't going to "hardcore" wheel this truck, why not go with new 2" Tuff Country springs in front and a block in the rear......that's the cheapest and easiest to do, it works just fine. your truck sits pretty level now too. spend the money on good shocks, mebe a pitman arm to level link.......won't have to drop the tank either for a shackle flip. zip zip......done. do the flip when you need to drop tank for something else.

EDIT: i'd take a look at these tires as well........http://www.tireteam.com/Tires/Cooper/Discoverer+STT/33125015/76115.html

Those tires are sweet. too. I need tires that will be good for sand. They gotta have soft enought sidewalls where they will be nice and squashy when aired down to 12 psi.

at 12 your tires will dig not float. Air down to 4-8 psi. PS the sidewalls on the claws are thick. I had to go down to 4 to get em to bulge

Yah a normal all terrain will bulge out at 12 psi. Those where 35" claw radials on my old k5 with a 6" lift. The sidewalls are 3 ply and where definitely stiff.

Damn, i really liked those... Hmm, Are they as bad as TSL THornbirds?? Those are horrid on sand.

They are good in the sand if you have wheel speed. If you can't keep the wheel speed up they will dig just like any aggressive tread. I had a tired 350 with over 100K on the clock 3.73's with 35's, i had to keep it in 4lo just to make it up test. Now my k20 with a fresh tbi/ rebuild I can leave it in 2 wheel drive and blast up and down with 4.10's and 38.5 boggers.

Any trouble with them coming off rims at 4 psi??
And lol well idk whats on this 305, but its def over 100k, either 107, 207, who knows maybe 307 lol. But i only want 33's so maybe that will help. Im looking at a crate 350 anyways.

Not in the sand, but I blew a bead trying to pull a guy out of the swamp when that was still open. But I found a happy medium at about 8psi

MAN I MISS THAT SWAMP!!! THat was the best wathing ever person that went in get stuck lol. Then 3 guys pull them out.

Im fine with 8. I want a 350 crate motor by end of summer as well, and im gonna focus on that before tires, i think my buckshots will air down ok, but will prolly dig alot being 11.5s. But hopefully a new heart coming in june if i put half my paychecks aside till them. Lots of ramon noodles!!!!

find out what cam is in there too.......

He said bone stock, which is what im after, want best mileage possible, just gotta get up a sand dune for offroadin. But guy seems like a gear head and pretty legit. Just needed more oomph in that old chevy. I just need me a little torque lol. Which ima guess my 305 how it is now has got not much of either. I WANT IT!!! lol

It should bolt right in correct??? What other questions should i ask? Does the one or 2 peice main seal matter?

for the most part it will bolt right in I believe. I can't quite remember if chevy went to a one piece rear main in 86 or 85, and it does matter. you would need an adapter if they aren't the same.
