Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

for the most part it will bolt right in I believe. I can't quite remember if chevy went to a one piece rear main in 86 or 85, and it does matter. you would need an adapter if they aren't the same.

Ok how much would that be??

Woo page 2! lol

Parked next to a bronco. Gives my truck that nice ugly girl advantage lol (Put an ok girl next to a bunch of ugly girls and she looks hot lol)
Bronco had a pretty jacked up ball joint or something, wheel was angled way in.

They went to 1 piece in 86. it will not matter as far as bolting all in, trans, mounts, etc. but the flywheel or flex plate is different. Not sure past that though?

Im guessin that since he took it out and put something bigger in he kept the flywheel on it seeing everything else is still on it. So then would i be good??

I'm not positive how that gos , but I believe so yeah. people swap between the years all the time and i havent heard of any major things that need done:dunno:

Sweet, im stoked, she will finally have some ball.

You check my new pics. Man that first one the sun was perfect lol.

I took them at work lol, such a good worker lol

Cool, if he does we are gonna go get it saturday, and as soon as the snow melts ill be putting it in. Prolly sand down the frame and paint while off, and get new motor mounts.

Also what are your guys thoughts on putting a noisy gear drive in?? I like the sound and for 100 bucks it would be cool. Or are they a waste.

I like the way it looks so much bigger and better than the bronco:D. I dont know what your funds are like but for 600 more you can have a brand new 260hp 350 from jegs.

I actually have one in my boys truck. but we havnt ran it yet:confused: to cold to work in the garage still.

I'd offer him 750. let him go up from there. you might get lucky.

I want lift and tires so i think this one will work ok, hopefully lol.

Yah its way sexier lol, so mean looking.

another thing to think about Dueling is that the Torquer manifold is a single plane and is meant for 2,500-6,000+ rpms....that motor doesn't have the cam, compression or head to use it.....in other words it's not the right manifold for a daily driven truck that will play in the dunes a bit. sorry to say....maybe you can sell off that one and your other one to get the proper intake for YOUR application.

Will do, im sure theirs people out their willing to give me a more stock one for 2 performance ones lol, I would hope. Cuz yah im just looking at the performance rated from 0-5000. Why do people do that lol. Goofballs.

lots of people throw "good" parts at stuff and think it's going to work. engine building is about honesty and chosen parts supporting each other in a well thought out recipe......that's an old manifold too, i remember that from the early '80's..probably don't make it anymore either.

Well ill get the right one for sure. Whats your opinion on a gear drive??

i though we went over this somewhere before .........i don't see the sense in them and i don't particularly like the whirring noise either....

Lol ok guys i wont lol, i just like that noise lol. Idk im split on this thing, now, looking at it all clean and such and alot of guys have said it looks good how it is lol, and i guess it does have a nice look, the tires give a little beefier look in person. So Idk if i wanna lift it or not and get those other tires, but i do want different tires, at least radials and i figured since i already have a set of skinnyish tires why not go wide, if im gonna spend the money, no point in having 3 sets of tires,

But who knows

Update on the engine also, the guy has someone coming to look at it tonight i guess and its about an hour and a half away so im not gonna try an beat him or anything, but the dude was really cool. He was like if the guy does by it we arent done doing business, he is really big in the restoration business, as you can see in the pic he has that 55 chevy and just completely restored it and put a 383 stroker in it, but he said if that guy does buy it he can definately find me the engine i want for the price i want, so that is really cool. Just keepin my fingers crossed and waiting for the phone call in the morning. Either way i need an engine, i need to be able to make it up test hill at the dunes, lol. :thumb:

Did ya here about that motor yet? If thats gone look for 90's caprices. They all had FI v8's, most were 350's, and alot were LT1's. Most can be had for around $1000. Then sell the tranny and scrap the car. You can probably make half or more of the money back.

It fell through, but i put a link to it on facebook and one of my buddies neighbors was like hey man you could go spend $900 on that and it could be what he says or some orange paint and some chrome. He said he could completly build me one for around 900 if i could find one that the block or crank didnt need machining. But he said he has a 400 Sbc sitting around that just needs to be put together but all rebuilt. Idk though that sounds like more engine than what im looking for a mostly daily driver with a little bit of off roading. It would be cool though.... But is that engine gonna wreck my tranny and rear end and all that?? Or would it be ok?? Cuz if im getting 9 mpg with my 305, which must be because its warn out, not lift or tires, or gears, or tranny, he said he could definatley get me more out of that 400 than 9. SO idk whats your guys opinion??? For what i want it for would it be worth it? Or find a 350?

Ok its official. 400 SBC bored 40 over to a 408, full rebuild with built stock heads, at the machine shop now getting bored and fluxed, $900 out the door with everything but the intake, which i need a new one anyways.

Im so exstatic haha, got dumped last week and now i feel a million times better!!! lol. Finally things are goin my way and im lovin it :thumb:

Gonna be the longest 6 weeks ever though haha
