Hey Adam, good to hear the beast run...it does sound good, almost like headers and open straight pipes to the back...its that loud.
They weren't checking exhaust at all at Silver Lake this past weekend either.
Just for reference, they check it at 21" from the exhaust tip, and at a 45* angle to the exhaust tip, not to exceed 95dB, @ 2500 rpm.

Thanks again for the top Adam, you da man! LOL

No problem dave, Its got a much better home now than the chicken coupe:thumb::haha:

I want sommma deeeez!!!!!

Cuz i figure my truck cant just have lots of DIY4X stickers without having any of their products right???:thumb:
Not that I need them, or would I ever, but they would look pretty sweet if I swapped them out for my doors for going up to the dunes for a weekend.

Oh and i hope to take the truck for a test run tomorrow or sunday:thumb:

Glad to hear.

Yeah tube doors is where its at.

Well I took it out of the shop yesterday, it moves lol. The brakes are so surface rusted from sitting in the humidity that it locked up every time I hit the brakes lol. I only drove it up the driveway and turned around though so not enough to see if it shifted correctly with the tv cable. I dont have insurance on it at the moment so I didnt want to take it up the road, if it was a back road I would have but its a main road and as Dave saw its got big hills both ways so I didnt feel like having something going wrong with no insurance right their lol.

I did get the temp gauge working. It ended up being the brand new sending unit lol. I took the old one out of the 305 which was 3/8" pipe thread I beleive and got a 3/8 x 3/4 brass bushing from work and threaded it into the 408. She sat right at 180ish after warm up so I think my radiator is doing the job.

Hopefully ill get down tomorrow and get it out.

Theirs just so many small things I want to get done before I start to DD it again. I Would like to do wheel bearings, change all the fluids, and just do a good once over on everything. Also I may need a bigger fuel pump, watching the fuel filter it will stay steady most the time then every now and then just empty out and barely squirt fuel into it... Idk if maybe its a bad spot in the lines, or if the fuel pump is going bad. Is that as sign???

my 406 is running a stock fuel pump and does fine, however I haven't had it run high rpm for extended lengths of time (like mud bogging etc) The closest thing is on the freeway doing ~2200rpm for an hour straight.

Well i stopped at auto zone, grabbed 6 qts of valvoline tranny fluid, and 3 quarts of valvoline synthetic 80/90 and changed the fluids and the tranny filter. It was like $56 for everything but I had $20 on my rewards card:thumb: gotta love the rewards program.

I blasted the dif cover, but their was this thick stuff on it almost like bedliner that the blaster couldnt get off, so I hit it with an air grinder and a pad. After I hit it with the sanding wheel I thought it looked kinda cool with the pattern, so I taped a stripe down it, and the fancy D I put on all the longboards I make and coated it in some primer and paint. I thought it looked kinda neat. Went over it with a bunch of clear coat to not let the bare metal rust. I know a crome cover is only like 15 or 20 bucks, but hey thats money in my pocket to go elsewhere. Ive always been good at workin with what I got and making it nice as possible.

Dont mind the bottom board, that was late night with some sharpies and turned out real lame lol.

Also I dont have the g80. It appears from all the dents on the inside of the cover that it must have blown up and the rear end rebuilt with just an open dif. So I guess I wont have the traction but the gears look freekin nice, really sharp and should be way stronger than the g80:thumb:

gear has richmond on the side = redone.

Well this makes me much happier:thumb:

I wont have to worry about it breaking... quite as fast...:thumb:

BTW this motor is a torqy mother EFFER!!! lol. I said how the shifter linkage was on the headers, well I took it down the driveway and hit it and the shifter went up and just about popped into neutral :eek1:. You can watch it move when I rev it lol. Ill put a small bend in it to fix this and re adjust the linkage.

Sounds like you need to put new motor mounts in. The poly clamshell inserts work pretty well, you can change them with the motor in one at a time by jacking it up from the bottom, but it would have been a lot easier to change them while it was out.
