Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

Alright Adam I'm going to apologize, I didn't realize my poking fun was a big deal and offensive. Didn't mean to spam up your build. Sorry man

Deulings 85 K5. The SVT BLAZER. [BENDING TUBE]

Do you think if a bunch of dudes all hang in the same build thread long enough their periods get on the same cycle?

The reason sometimes the good natured ribbing is unwarranted is because we have no idea who you are. A bunch of us all know each other really well outside of the forum. Sometimes when other folks come in and start joking about intentions can get misunderstood.

Lol, wtf happened. I go work on blazer and 2 pages go by :haha:

I think you whores are the reason this thread is 5600 posts long. Not me :haha:

Seats and sliders are in. That was way more work than I expected. But all is tacked in, and even just tacked, solid as hell :D

A chunk of 1/2" poop pipe, and some flanged nuts, mixed with more unitstrut, were my solution for the front mounts. I like them.

This pic gives a good idea of how much headroom i still have. Sitting in the seats, im sitting much higher than I was in the stock seats, yet I still have tons of headroom to run the rest of the cage. My head goes to the top of the seats. Doesn't extend much past that.

Its not a big deal really. But yes I get the point. Wades blazer is a much better machine than mine will be suspension wise. I tried to run with him, I could keep up until we hit the super rough whoops that I could not handle. Hoping my suspension mods in the rear will change that. My front worked awesome last summer, but the rear just would not keep up at all.

But I think the constant pointing out of links etc just gets old to some people at some point. I know its not linked, it probably wont get linked. I want to kick some linked rigs butts with leaf springs. Just to say I can do it. Thats why I stayed with leafs.

Now for the seat brackets. I did not see what your end goal was. Now I do. I want to let you know that I had to fix, actually replace, a set that were mounted close to that same way. The leverage on the slider bolts was too much for the slider to maintain over time. The bolts ended up ripping out of the sliders.

The guy had bought another set:doah: to replace the broken ones. I ended up tapering a piece of material from the front of the seat to the back. Mounted that to the seat tabs then it bolted to the slider. That way there was not the torsional load on the slider bolts. Also cross tied like you have.

Just my 2c. But my wife says I have no sense. Sorry had to throw some humor in.

I think this should be the title of the thread...

Yeah. Every time you stop posting pictures the conversation degenerates...

And I like how the seat mounts turned out. Very nice. :waytogo:

I'm going to take the whole cage out to fully weld before adding any more in cab tubes. So I will take the seats back out anyways. I'll try and add something to tie the two sides together.

Crap now I feel bad, Adam I wasn't bashing leafs or your setup. Dude your truck works awesome! Are you kidding? It takes a lot of work to get it where it is now and it shows what it can do the videos prove that easily. The poke I made had nothin(in my head) :whoops: to do with links nothing at all and more to the point is your 406 in honest speak should whoop up on wades:sorry dude: he better hope you don't find a smooth spot to catch him on cause there might be some roost coming off the back of those paddles.

So again sorry I didn't realize what Everton was so upset about, that's my bad, and I'll quit messing with you about the links.
On to more build stuff!

No worries.

No fun today. I get to go sit in the Vanandel Arena and watch Skye and 2,999 other GVSU students graduate. What a waste of a beautiful day out to sit inside for like 4 hours :doah:

I hope there is wifi.

Lame! Graduations are so boring! I am seriously just dieing to watch this year's go pro vids of you and nate with your newly dialed in suspension and stuff! Ugh! It's going to he so awesome!
