Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

I really wanted a low profile stinger, but I can play with more of a 45 coming out of the grill and hit the stinger at a straight and see how I like it.
But im not raising the stinger.

This would be what I was talking about. Ill have to try a piece and see how I like it. It may look the same though with the radius of this die...

lol
Got no problems with the bumper, only fangs. And that goes for any square without a stock front bumper to wrap around :D But I've also cut the back "fangs" off too. That's more or less because if I don't, I'll smash them and have a bigger mess, over looks. I just so happens to look good IMO too.

Hurry up, can't sit here all day and wait...

that would be WAY better... it needs a bit of straight as it hits the stinger...

With the radius of the die, im gonna guess its not going to be much of a straight at the end of the day.. Maybe an inch or two is my guess, but worth a try.

I agree... it doesn't need much.... it's a reason why all my initial dies where the smallest CLR....I think if 1/3 to a 1/2 of the bend was in the grill, the other 1/2 in front with a couple inches of straight would make all the difference in the world...

I do agree with the others on the fangs.. tube bumpers and those clips really kind of demand it.. makes that main tube look so much better... but that isn't a huge beef with me, you could always do it down the road....

keep in mind, you can cut both panels straight across under the light where the inner bends 90 degrees, squirt it with a little black on the edge and leave it... I've been running around with Mutt's like that.. eventually i'll put a little flat plate down there, but it's far from critical... it's literally a 1/2 hr project to defang em...

Yup, I will do it one of these days. But that's something I can do whenever and I'd like to plate it all back in nice when I do it. Otherwise I will just leave it and never bother later. I know myself pretty well.....

Why not raise the stinger portion and have the tie ins straight? I must have missed something.

I wanted to keep a lower profile look.

Personally I didn't want to add a stinger at all, to keep that look like the tan rig you posted on my fb. But if I smash a deer, I forsee it going through the grill without some sort of stinger.

You now know why I am trying to copy this now! He did nail it on a lot of things, aside the square lights of course.

That setup might not work as well with your quad headlights though. The angle brace will probably cross one of the lights. Just something to think about. I'm digging it either way you go at this point.

Yup, that was one other reason for it. My turn signals and lights are not really blocked all that much at this point.

I think ill just keep it as is. Steal is easy to cut and change later on, plus I don't want lights that large, mostly because they are FAWKING expensive lol.
