Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

Thanks guys. I'm pretty bummed, but as I like to say.....You gotta pay to play.

Idk if I want all that sealer running through my nice radiator, I'll just tear it down and see what's happening. If the block is intact I'll probably see about getting those aluminum heads on.

I guess now I need some good links on how to's of engine work lol.

I have arp head studs, can those be reused? Or do I need new?

sorry to hear the bad news. It can really bum you out after a lot of wernching and then something else goes wrong.

Yes you can reuse ARP head steads, although they may make it tricky to pull the head with the engine still in the truck, you'll find out soon, hopefull their is enough room in our huge engine compartments.

I could tow you around with the Maiden while you make vroom vroom sounds?

Lets have a engine swap thrash on Thurs before the dunefest!!!!

Saw this and thought of you . . . :D

oh those would gay things up nicely for mr skinny jeans!

This is actually a brilliant idea. A complete roller cam retrofit package with almost everything you need to get the Patriot heads assembled. :thumb:

I've never heard of the Lunati Bare Bones series but it sounds promising. If its anything like the Voodoo series, you'll love the throttle response and pure screaming redline ability! I've had 2 Voodoo shafts and love both of them. Definitely can't go wrong with a roller cam either :waytogo:

With this cam package, all you'd need is to do is have the heads milled, buy valve seals, and assemble the valves. Easy peasy, 50 more hp squeezy.

Oh wait I see why you really want this cam package
Complete Kits include Camshaft, Lifters, Timing Chain & Gears, Valve Springs, Retainers, Locks, Assembly Lube, Decals, and Instructions.
