Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

Nate is your frame bent? The front fenders look to be pointing up quite a bit?

I'm with dueling on this.. Mine does not rattle at all.. I am on my third set of doors and this fins, lay solved my issue, now I am going. To cut it up and cage it.. From the sounds of it the rattles are going to to move back in? :face palm: time for louder mufflers..

I am solid mounted so I hear every creak and moan. I hear my antiwrap bar through the cage.

The only isolators I have are engine and trans mount. I have said it before. I can count the revolutions of the ring gear in the rear end at 65mph on the highway.

If I want a Cadillac, I will buy a Cadillac.

What if you want a long travel caddy?

Silicone could be used to isolate the harmonics.. And if I wanted a tube car is buy one.. I'm going to experiment a lot with this.. Sound is distracting.. Especially when it's distracting sound and not engine or suspension..

Actually, when the doors are off it looks like it was done on purpose for ease of entry and more airflow. When the hood is off it just looks like it is not finished and someone didn't have time to put it back on.

I concur. Aside from enjoying the opportunity to tease Adam, I really don't care what he does with his truck. But that was my first thought when I saw his truck (or any such truck). "He didn't have time to finish it up yet. Or he's a slob who doesn't care to keep his engine bay protected from the weather."

But taking the doors off makes sense (unless it's raining :pimp:), and prompts a different reaction.

Hey, Adam - while you're in weight-shedding mode, what function does your tailgate give? Would you be better off with a fabric net, or at least the previously-suggested truck gate?

Meh idk that sounds like a pain. Plus I don't mind the extra weight in the back to help level it out.

With all the sheet metal off hes good for like 50 more hp and 4 more vertical inches at take off. Good call.

Looking good as always. Although I like hood on personally, you work it kid.

What about cutting out the center of the hood and putting in a piece of clear Lexan in there.

Switching from a Blazer tailgate to a truck tailgate is actually a decent weight reduction.

I actually don't mind the weight of it in the rear. With the gas tank back there and tools, spare, tailgate, and co2 tank, I bet the thing is decently balanced weight wise front to rear....

If your wanting to get rid of weight get rid of some of that stuff you dont need under the hood. Heater, inner fenders, windshield washers, any and all of that junk lol. Take the windshield out and you grt your a/c back.

For the sand you can never be too light no matter where the weight is coming from
