I run 12-15lbs in my 39.5 TSL's and haven't had any issues even catching a little air on the whoops.
I think Craig has run 5# regularly without issue on 16" rims, just no hard turns!

This was on my 1985 K20 the other night. Wouldn't even tregister air pressure on the gauge, and I drove a few blocks to put air in it.....

Sounds like you need to start cutting off some weight. Be cheaper than buying tires.....+ think about how much higher you would be in that picture.
Now go remove nine more hoods to start with.

You could never get away with that on a 17.5.. I had my tires burp air at 17lbs...
Rocks in the beads and everything..

I want tube doors, but damn, when it was a torrential downpour during dune party, and I got to sit in my nice warm dry cab while rich and swetty were soaked in fire truck with tube doors, I decided I like full doors...

Tube tailgate does sound cool though. Either way, bracing the bedsides would be simple.

But I do need a good surface to sit on top of hills with Blonde girl though...

You should get an actual scale measurement. I'd be curious to see how heavy this thing is with your additions and subtractions.

So it sounds like you're stuck with either your current sheet metal or with a truck gate.
