Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

Actually, this is the best sounding idea so far. A custom aluminum insert, in the style of the truck tailgate trim panel, would be badass!

I think it would be cool. With the 36" depth roller, I will technically be able to get to the center of a 6' panel... There are some other factors of course (more like 6' from opposite corners). But that will be way cooler than the current 18" depth I have.

Just gotta spend $2400 on it :D

DO IT!!! Your on the path to making good money with it, so it's worth it.

Build one. I have a friend who built a 50" deep roller machine. He ended up powering it. Was really cool to watch.

I know you like the full doors but they're heavy and this is a "go fast" rig no?

Tube doors and tailgate with some of your fancy aluminum to promote the biz.

Go fast and make money.

No time. I gots peoples that wants big panels... And I want mo $$$ :D

Plus MB has endless die selections...

So not to derail your thread too much, but what about exhaust fumes? I know you don't keep the top on much, and neither do I in the summer, but if the window is down and my top is on I damn near pass out from the fumes.

Same here. If I put the pickup gate on, that pretty much means the tops not going on for a while....

This all of course is nothing I am in a big hurry for. I have way more important things to get done to it first...

-Front output seal on the 208 is blown I think. I blew the cv up in the dunes early last summer (first trip out last year actually) and I think it ate the seal out some (which was only like 2 years old...). I had to put about a qt in it every time I took it up last summer.

-Still need to replace fuel pump, the housing is cracked where it bolts to the block and oil leaks out from the block and squirts on the headers here and there.

-Change fluids in everything. Id like to rip the front end down, repack bearings etc.

-Should probably finish that monstrosity I call front bumper... And really wanted to redo the rear bumper, but that's another that can wait.

I think the solution might be to install some hi flow cats before the mufflers. Burn up that exhaust a bit more...

Cat's won't fix the problem. Helps a little, but far from a fix.

My back window is slightly farther back than yours, so i get about 10 min of driving with the window down before i get a headache, and i have nice new legal cats.

I think you are just screwed no matter what at that point then... All more reason to just keep the top off, as I get zero fumes.

I still think some cats might be nice to cut down on stinky, I wonder how the exhaust would sound with just cats...

lol.

That stuff is cool actually. Somebody had some bubble gum mixed with race fuel at the dunes one time. It smelled like heaven.
