Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

I just turned the radio up.

The fumes were coming in from the lack of filler neck cover in the back corner.

Stuffed a jacket back there for now.

I need to order one of those covers. Mine was rotten when I did the floors.

Blazer got 9.2 mpg today. I was actually really happy with that. Not babying it either. 80 on the freeway, and passing priuses in the city :P

I hate cackly flowmasters, maybe ill do the thrush welded ones.
I loved the thrush welded I had on my burb... good deep rumble. Set car alarms off when idling through the parking lot at the store or dropping my kid off at school, and didn't even sound loud at that point.... sounded AWESOME when I got on it..... even with my stock 'low nut' 350. Wife didn't like riding in it so I changed it out.... :doah:. I think you'd like em:waytogo:

Blazer had a great summer. I must say, that this thing impresses me every time I drive it.

2 summers of countless beatings, and I have done nothing more than routine fluid changes and greasing everything that takes grease almost every trip.

As this years dune season comes to an end, I am reflecting on just how awesome this rig has been to me. It has been a staple in the best relationship I have (and hopefully will ever have). It has taken me on many great trips, many great times and has never let me down.

I may have skipped out on alot of things to get it going (lots of zip ties, soooo many zip ties). But I am so glad I did as it resulted in less days in the garage, and so many days out having fun with my favorite people.

CHEERS to cherry brazer.

That last pic was a funny that I walked out to after work. No I am not really selling it lol.

That is what it is all about Adam. I have had my truck for 24 year and that is why I can't give up to many trips and stories. I just wish I had more old school pics of it.

My best advice buddy, is to get that transmission in it, throw some zip ties at the little things. And go have fun with it.

This place makes you want to work on your junk forever to get it right. But its so much more rewarding when you skip a couple of those little things and just go have fun. You can fix those things in the off season. Those are my plans.

Your truck should be the goal of CK5'ers everywhere.
One day I'll have both of my Junkers running together again

For sure man, I just can't trust it enough to focus on the little things. It had been bare bones for sometime and isn't pretty. I have had wires rubbing on metal, leaks and missing parts for a year cause it just won't run long enough.

Ok but now it's time to fix all that little stuff. I beat on Horton for 2 years with very minor problems. But after 2 years it started taking a toll. I fixed what I could but this tine it's all getting fixed everything that's been bugging me that is a possible failure point.

Zip ties to get ya back wheeling. But the fix needs to happen

Though most excellent post man. I enjoy using em WAY WAY WAY more than building em

That sums it up perfectly.....

I try and not do projects over the winter that take over a couple of months to complete.

I spoke too soon about the girl.

I got out weighed by weight lifting. Quite ironic.

At least blazer is always there for me. I skipped work, and beat the ever loving piss out of it for 3 hours straight. 18 gallons in 3 hours.
