Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

Spent sat and sunday swapping the cases, new one still leaks out of the front output even with brand new seal, so thats focking lame..... The lube locker gasket I put on the 700r4 also leaks oddly enough... I have put countless standard rubber gaskets on it and never had a single one leak, buy the nice one and it leaks in multiple places lol.

I now have drains with magnetic plugs in both diffs, and the trans pan. No more mess, and can do quick fluid changes, and if there is metal chunks on the magnets, you know you need to pull the pan. Otherwise just a time saver.

FYI, standard auto parts stores don't sell them with weld on bungs. So buy a 1/2-20 nut, weld that on, then pick up the 1/2-20 magnetic drain plug of your choice from any auto parts store, most of which come with a rubber washer.

As Shannon was draining the front 10 Bolt, she found some chunks. Ended up being my Powertrax No Slip, which was now slippy due to some sheared teeth. So I ordered a Spartan locker. If anybody has a half broken No Slip locker, half of this one looks fine, so we could make a good one again.....

You can tell the difference between a sand truck and a crawler by the drain plugs. We would shear those off in a couple of trails time.

Did I just wrote that? When did I become a crawler? Need sand soon.

Oh yes. Richard made sure to bitch me out about how if I was into real wheeling, I would tear it off in a heartbeat when I put one on the rear axle years ago.

But I barely have time to work on this thing to get it ready for sand alone, so I'm not really worried lol.

Haha. Thanks man! Happy birthday to you too!

I hope to just leave the thing how it is for as long as possible. Keep up on maintenance, and make any of it easier and quicker to do to help out timewise in the future.
