I figured they were made in China. Most of the major brands are now. My 5" angle grinder is a Milwaukee but it is 12-13 years old, and I believe was made in the USA. It can get pretty hot at the gear box on the front but it has taken all I could ever throw at it. It is the magnum version that is rated for 2.1hp, and is the most powerful they had without going to a 7". I love the size and power, but it is pretty heavy for light deburring. A lighter weight 4-4 1/2" would be better for that. I use my IR air angle die grinder and a 3" disc for deburring. It is also 5-6 years or older and is the composite model. The newer reviews say they are crap, and of course the new ones are made in china. Mine was either Japan or USA, can't remember off the top of my head.
Anymore, I consider looking for used tools that were made in the US. I am glad I bought as many tools as I did in the last 10-13 years. I used to be in construction, but I got out of doing that, so I don't have to use my tools as often and hopefully they will last a while.
I did have to buy a new motor for my Milwaukee V28 1/2" cordless hammer drill. It was made in china and came with a new motor case as well, since the motor is different than the original. So far, it seems to be working well. I have been lucky with a few chineese products, but I still really hate to support that country or tool companies that don't support us and who don't make as good of a product as they used to.
I considered the DeWalt grinder, but I didn't see any near me. $20 bucks may have been ok for light duty work if it didn't weigh a ton.
