DJz Blazer

And plan B.
Knowing my luck I ordered another replacement pump for the last one that took a dive..

I think I found a kit to move the alternator to the passenger side. Gonna order that and a dual grove pulley for the alternator Monday.

Well, hopefully this cures it. Gonna try and run dual belts on both the steering and alternator if there's room. Alternator is tight.

Personally I would not run double belts. I would just stow the extra belts for emergency's. I just have not had good luck doing it

Hmm, the belts seem to be the root of my squeal. I was hoping dual belts would cure that. What did you end up doing??

It took many tries at different pulleys, different mounts, finally a cut and modded power steering pump mount to get the pump closer to the block and shim/washers to move the pulley out. It used to squeal tons now only for a second or two when it's cold. My alt is located on the pass side (with total after market bracketry) I don't think i ever had a problem with that alignment it was always the PS.

One of the guys on Pirate mentioned a dual v, single backed belt. I think I'm gonna look into that. When I replace the water pump which is one of the few things I have not changed I'm gonna go to a long water pump and mount the alternator to the passenger side.

Well dual belt rubs. I kinda knew that was coming. I'll put up with it for the week and then move the alternator to the passenger side.

Today's episode of this old Blazer the taillights wouldn't work. Spent a hour chasing it down to find this. I think the Blazer is just screwing with me now...

Along those lines (Wires) If and when you ever rewire it save all those rubber connectors, they are way better than anything that comes in the kits now a days and they fit in the holes in the frame.

Phone bush? Like a phone booth only a bush. Are you just scopeing out for KOH?

ATT only works in a few places out in Johnson Valley. This bush in the middle of the lakebed is one of those places. Have no idea why, probably an unexploded nuke or something from the 50's under it.

No scoping for KOH. Just cruzed around and talked to friends as we are all usually to busy to really stop and talk during KOH. Not sure what role I'll play this year at KOH. I'm usually a pit boss but with my back still bothering me I don't think I want to be at a live pit in case of an emergency and not being able to do much. I usually just lead everybody to a designated job and watch to make sure everyone is safe and see what might be needed to get the car out of the pit. But I don't want to be put in a spot where I have to pull someone out of a burning car or some other sort of emergency.

Everyone was out testing, tuning, and prepping for KOH. Several racers went and ran the second lap from this years KOH. Rumor has it there will be lots of rocks this year which gives us an advantage over the East teams as it's our back yard.
