Don't call it a build thread... (Do I need spacers, or a lift?)

Ok, so after having the new wheels and tires on for a little bit I've decided I want (actually maybe need) to lift it. Left front wheel rubs the pitman arm on right turns. Driving a big truck like this can be very inconvenient, not being able to go full right lock, well that makes it very inconveniant. I need to be pointed in the right direction. I want to make as sharp of turns as I can, and I don't want to chew up my brand new tire!

Will doing a 3 or 4 inch lift fix that? Or am I gonna have to put spacers on to fix this issue? And then are spacers gonna force me to have to lift it to maintain fender clearance?

I've never done a lift before. Not planning on wheeling the truck. What all do I need for the lift? So far my list is: brake hoses, shocks, front springs and shackles, rear flip kit, one inch zero rate (I like what I've read about these on the front for centering and clearnace.) Rear springs are new.

Thanks in advance!

Those wheels have like 5.5" backspace I believe so spacers would help with the pitman arm clearance but would hurt with fender clearance. Just doing a 1" zero-rate might give you all the clearance you need.

As for the list of parts needed to lift it: you pretty much got it, remember though that the zero-rate adds an inch so if you got 4" front springs, the zero-rate would give you a total of 5" of lift. You will also need some sort of steering correction. Dropped pitman arm, bent drag link, steering arm (raised or steering block) are your options for that. I would do the raised steering arm.

Just go with a 2" lift spring in the front, and a 2" block in the rear.

You really think two inches will be enough to clear where it is hitting the pitman arm? I wanna get out there in the next day or two and and do some poking around.

This thing still around

More pics not connected to PB would be awesome:D

That’s like looking at pictures of my ex wife

Ah.. oh well. No reason to dig up old pics lol... I was just wanting to see pics of rigs similar to my new one. Ideas and stuff.
