They still exist, and Travis at CSK and Duraburb are really the only main converters of these trucks in the US.

There are some one off builds here and there, but they are the main players.

Duraburb does a better job on marketing, customer relations, electrical, and programming, as well as selling CA ref'd swaps.

Travis does all he can to help the buyer on smog, but does not guarantee anything.

Duraburb is also in Florida.

Travis's package ends up being significantly cheaper, and in my location, more convenient.

More or less. I think he is using aluminum pucks, but they may be available commercially to setup that taper.

Never looked into body lifts much.

But, considering i'm going to run at least 285's, and don't want to do an IFS lift, I'm ok with a bit more height.
 
So, can anyone here think of any real impacts a raked body lift like this will present?

Other than having to raise the front bumper, I really can't wrap my head around any real negatives.

Curious to see how obvious it will be from a frame visibility stance, but i'm guessing it will be hardly noticeable.

Plus, it gives me a bit more tire clearance in front, where i need it most.

Thoughts?
 
This guy has been doing these swaps for awhile and has a good reputation right? If so I don't see any reason to question his methods.
 
I have always thought about doing the same thing. I think it's fine. People do full body lifts all the time although they aren't thought of highly. So a half body lift shouldn't be anything to worry about. Especially if it's only like a 2" at its biggest.
 
The only negative I can see with the body lift is you will see even more of that giant frame hanging down. It's the one thing that I have always hated about Chevy. So just fill up wheel wells with tire and get some side steps to block the view.

Yep, he's done a ton. Not questioning his methods, just trying to think through all the details on my own.

Never been a huge body lift fan, but it seems like the right way to pull this off, so i'm on board.
 
Have you always lived in Truckee and I just didn't notice it, or did you move? Truckee is only 45 mins or so up the road.

We need to run fordyce one day.

I was in Davis, then Pleasanton for the last 5 yrs. Just moved up to Truckee this last winter.:waytogo:

Hopefully there will be time for fordyce in the fall! You have an active trail rig?

I've never been there, and doubt the 91 burb is up to the task.
 
I don't have an active rig...but I am willing ride the dually through fordyce, when I'm done with it. I've been there a time or two, pretty sure I can do it. I'd have to take a bypass around one or two of the winch hills, but doable. If you care about your sheet metal and don't have the appropriate armor, stay away from fordyce, lol
 
The progressive body lift is standard practice with these trucks. Even running the non-HD front end. There is no real visible difference in the frame stick out below the body. You have to body lift for transmission to body clearance.
 
Had I not gotten the body off pic, it would have just looked like a new radiator.

Travis told me that its all about core support height in relation to front body mounts. Said the trans tunnel is plenty big, and is more of a rumor'd problem than reality. :dunno:
