If you Google it, you can find a site that lists stations with ethanol free. We've also had a couple new franchise stations come in that sell it, Murphy USA and Maverick. Most places are what we would call mid-grade in CO, but I've also seen a few that only do it with premium. Around here it's $2.75/gal versus $3.05/gal for clear gas.

I've seen it called clear gas and clean gas. This is the website with the list of stations: https://www.pure-gas.org

If it's a car that sits a lot or even yard equipment like mowers, I only use clear gas. Also anything with a carburetor I only use clear gas. I saw an interesting video about how ethanol can aerate in a carburetor not to mention the corrosive issues.
Looks like two spots in pew-town for it. One in the 'hood and the other at the south shore marina in lake Pueblo state park. I'll have to try some next time I come north.

here in about 2 weeks or so i'm going to road test this system and will tell the millage by filling up and how many gallons, mileage
go from here(Lubbock) to Albuquerque ,NM and fill up how many gallons/millage.
Ill do this between each fill up albuquerque to flagstaff to Vegas . Plus I will have 3 5 gallon gas cans as backup/just in case senerio

i am going on vacation. See how good this pro flow 4 does across 1000 mile journey. see if it does any better than fitech (sure it will)

So you went from 85-10% to 87-0%?
It's not the octane helping with fuel economy. It's the lack of alcohol. Ethanol by itself has less power per gallon than straight gasoline. So it stands to reason, if we cut the straight gas with a percentage of ethanol, it will get less miles per gallon.

So odd to think if they put that crap in our fuel it's "cleaner" and lowering our dependency to foreign oil. But it actually causes us to use more fuel which does the exact opposite.

Yep,,understand all that about ethanol. But @mrk5 made two changes

I'd rather just stick with running the clear gas. It took 2 tanks after switching blends to get steady numbers. Realistically the other variable is weather. It's been warmer since I switch to clear gas so that may have a bearing on this as well.

I could try the premium clear gas but it's not in a very convenient location. I'd burn up all the fuel savings going out of my way to get fuel there.

I wish we had this option in my area, I would run it all the time.
The closest place to me is 200 miles and out of my way

I have a place that sells 91 octane ethanol free and last week it was $4.29 per gallon. OUCH!! The 87 octane ethanol free at Maverick was $3.10 , IIRC.

I think a few weeks ago when I was up in Denver and had to run up to Erie to pick up the correct core support I stopped on Wadsworth and saw they had it. I think I might have filled up with it. But now I don't remember. I'll have to fill up next time for sure.

I've switched over to running ethanol free gas which is 87 octane here. It's made a significant improvement in fuel mileage.

I've also noticed as the weather is starting to get warmer, I don't have cold starting issues as long as the coolant is above 35°F.
I run the 91 non ethanol also. It's good stuff.

Just filled up last night and I got 14.25mpg on the last tank. Since switching it has been steadily improving MPG. I'm curious to see how this tank goes because it's going to be below 30°F every morning for the rest of the week. I daily drive the truck so the drive type is consistent. So it's either the fuel or warmer temperatures; this weeks temps will possibly rule out the latter variable.

It might have also improved the cold starts. This morning it started with coolant below 30° without needing me to give any gas pedal assistance.

Well it looks like it's most likely the weather that is affecting MPG. Last week it was cold and MPG dropped down in the 12's. Now this week it's back up again. I haven't refueled yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be better than 14 MPG.

No, that's not a concern with the PF4 since it will run fine cold. No stalling like the carb. I usually let it warm up to about 60°F ECT and go. Doesn't take long to hit 60.

How did the mileage change if you didn’t puff but the weather did?

The only thing that came to mind is that it is pig rich when cold and wasting fuel. Plugs should show that
