) from the other end back to the ecu. I have most of the hardware I need to get this job done. Thanks for the recommendations. Shout out to Heath for hooking me up with the ProFlo kit. @folkenheath did you toss that Allen head driver in the box? Looks like it fits the TC lockup switch that was recommended, or does it fit something on the Edelbrock intake?
The new intake is in pace and torqued down. Before stabbing the distributor in, I see a hundred wires in the loom behind it, most of which will no longer be used. I have to get that web untangled before proceeding. It’s like leaving garbage on the floor. Bugs me.
Plan is to get the ecu out from under the dash and pull the harness out the firewall. Is that doable? Then attempt to get rid of all the extre stuff (with the help of a wiring diagram for an 87 k5) from the other end back to the ecu.
Getting exhaust on it Tuesday, after I trailer it back to my place, I can finish up the wiring, fuel lines as soon as weather permits. We skipped the 80 degree weather and went right into the low 90s this week.
Trans was working before? Then you only need the vacuum switch@mrk5 Maybe I wasn’t clear. I purchased the vacuum switch only, followed the link that @Bent77 posted earlier.
Since I have an 87 that had an ecm, do I need to get the kit?
The kit comes with the manual override you talked about. My assumption was that I only needed the vacuum operated switch since I had a 700r4 in an ecm equipped vehicle.
I thought you were asking for opinions on whether or not it was worth getting. My answer to that is yes. But no, it's not required.@mrk5 Maybe I wasn’t clear. I purchased the vacuum switch only, followed the link that @Bent77 posted earlier.

No problem, I may end up implementing the manual override if the switch doesn’t do it’s thing or is problematic. At this point, ZZ Top is ringing in my ears….just got paid today, got me a pocket full of change.I thought you were asking for opinions on whether or not it was worth getting.
