updates..in alberta
Hey guys sorry it has been a bit, 70jimmy thanks for the offer but I made
so far. People is the Midwest are some really friendly people I have noticed.
Well after that storm there have been no other incidents. Crossed the
border into canada, got molested by the border patrol. Well the u-haul did
at least. Sitting in the bay watching the custom dudes go through my
carefully packed stuff kinda irritated me. Felt like TSA search. They were
convinced I was bringing in guns. I told them that I spend all my money on
off-road parts. Hence the 40 inch boggers residing in "Mom's attic".
I stopped in a town called craven, the bartender/hotel manager found out I
had a dog. My dog is a people magnet, chick magnet also. Everyone
wanted to pet her and she got a 20 oz steak bone. She munched on that
while I had some bar food and a Guinness. 40 bucks for the night, score.
Drove through Saskatchewan and now I am close to the alberta/BC border.
Checked out a hotel in this town they wanted 150 a night, I walked out.
Went down the street to a motel, desk clerk likes dogs. Another free night
for the pooch and I paid less than half of what the expensive place was
charging. Toilet does not like to flush, fast internet, and plenty of parking.
Barricaded the door anyway, my dog is always vigilant at night so it's nice
that she pulled security for me.
I have the U-haul setup for sleeping in the back for the Alaska highway
where hotels are supposed to be stupid expensive. I also have 20 gallons of
gas in fuel containers and a full tank in the Subaru. I have been getting
fairly descent gps signal so far but I have a map for back up.
The terrain is starting to look more "alaska like" and less "dakota like".
Anyway Pics:
Flat farm land, Saskatchewan. Would be excellent to have cruise control, you hearing me U-haul!?!

Brief moments when my dog is awake. Stopped for a bit.

Lotta oil fields here in Alberta, seems more interesting.

1700 more miles...
