Family wheeler - 83 K5

Never saw this build. Looks like it's going to be a cool one!

Hopefully. Time is the problem. I've had the axles lockers and gears to do my tons for a year. Haven't had time to do it.

I'm so tired of a "stock" truck that I'm about to lift it and toss the 40s on the stock axles just to profile till I can build my axles.

Hopefully ORD does a black friday sale pr so.ething for crossover. If not I'll be buying a ruffstuff set up.

They are having a 10% off all items starting tomorrow.

Already pulled the trigger on my ruffstuff crossover. Dan has been good to me over the years with my truggy build. I will be ordering a dodge 60 leaf spring bushing kit, steering brace, 1" body lift, and a crossmember from ORD soon though.

Sounds like my front end lol. Those Dodge bushings help the spring spacing sooo much.

Alrighty then....

So today I tossed my shackle flip, shackles, and new fuel tank in the truck. The wife and kiddo decided to come to my shop and help out which always makes a great day in the shop.

Old fuel tank out. Rusty and leaks gas everytime you fill it up. Scrap now.

Air chisel made quick work. Like in 30 min I had all 12 rivets cut off and popped out. No other way. If you don't have one.... buy one...

My used ORD brackets slide right in. Had to open the holes to 7/16

Decent angle. The tire is WAY to far forward. Didn't have time to put my ez inches on but that will take care of it.20191201_154332.jpg 20191201_154342.jpg

Anti-Carolina squat.20191201_154351.jpg

And of course the kiddo making sure my ez inches are gonna work

Oh.... and screw unboltimg the ubolts and fighting the the drivers side spring and shackle around the mount. Just Jack the axle up till the spring hits the body, remove the bracket, let it down and take that stupid bolt out.

Oh and for poops and giggles... here's the wife putting in work with my yota truggy at a local mud bog. Not bad for a truck that was built for rocks. Lol

I will say she ain't scared of it. 2 plus min at WOT. Lol

No shit.
I would have given up after the 20 second mark.

Yeah she ain't scared of it and I made the mistake of saying put your foot on the floor and keep it there... lol She wheels it too.

Dang 4.3 took it like a champ

Better picture, added a 12v socket. The top three will be random lights. The white will be power on for in cab winch control (getting replaced with a locking switch to prevent accidentally getting turned on) and the red the winch control. The blank will get a dual USB port

Also got my first box of goodies from ruffstuff. 60 and 14 bolt simple swap.

So tonight I took an hour after work and tossed some 4" springs and ez inches moved with the axle in the 1.5" forward slot.

I think some trimming is in order.... that's ride height. Lol But gotta love that approach angle.

Tossed the 31s on the front to move it around until I can cut the body. May end up with a 1" ORD body lift too. We will see.

They may ne 39.5s I'll look. I bought then for the beadlocks not the tires. Lol they are just "place holders" right now.

Ah, well that would make perfect sense. Mine are 39.5 TSL's also, and they look identical.
