What's that on the ground....under your truck Ira?
You guessed it, we had to fix the steering again:haha:

While all that was going on, everyone else was playing in the dunes a little bit.

Those were all off of his camera. The only ones I took with my camera were of the 208 rebuild and when Ira got stuck pushing me off of that first sand burm.

How big was that lizzard?
And did anyone ever find out exactly what was up with Don's steering.

Edit: Speaking of steering....I think my pump hates me after the workout it got yesterday. I will need to change it again before any more trail time

He stripped the threads on 1 or 2 of the bolts the first time we went to Corral Canyon and I think he may have damaged the other two. He put longer bolts and staked them but they still worked loose. I do not know what he did after that. That thing was def moving around though.:eek1:

Have you ever had one apart? They are really simple to rebuild takes about 1 hour with RO/RI and a kit is $14.:D I would not think the vanes and rotor would be bad from fluid maybe a blown Oring or something.

Ira

Yeah, this one has been rebuilt one time before. Maybey I should do the pump mods to help steering effort with the detroit. Eventually I will egt the crossover together.
Thinking about it, I might just wait on the pump rebuild until i get a new sector shaft. That way I will only need to bleed the system one time

About 6-8" long. Don's steering was a combo of worn drag link, cracked frame, worn spring bushings, and loose u-bolts.

Ira

I would be up for that most any time. It is a lot closer so it will be easier on the wallet.
I think Ira is headed to Florida for school in a few days though.....

I have a few things I would like to get done on the truck first though.

-2WD sector shaft, then install the NWF crossover
-Rebuild PS pump again
-Trim fenders and front bumper
-Install ford towers and new shocks in the front
-DIY inboard the rear
-Win the lottery

I talked to pismorat..he should be coming by the thread. I think I might go thru the SoCal thread and PM all the people that have posted and see about Corral.
