Finally changing the timing set...IT's Running again.

Tell you what, i just checked and i have a good balancer here at my shop that is the exact one you currently have. I'll sell it to you for 30.00 plus shipping.

So do you want it then? Paypal me some cash [email protected] and i'll get it in the mail hopefully this afternoon. I just need to box it up and drop it off around the corner. Shoot me an addy also.

Yes, we have a parts store in the front of my building. This balancer i have here is a good used one. If you want it i'll send it out and give you a total (no more than $40.00 shipped) and you can send me a check.

Oops, my bad. Started getting too involved and forgot where i was typing. :o

What timing set did you get? Are you gonna fix that oil leak while you are in there?:D .

And how did you crack a rib? Did you get a little over zelous during the season?

I got the Cloyes C3023SXP HD double Roller. Paid $24 at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

And yes I did crack a rib during the season.....and yes the LSUG's were there when it happened.....but no it was not anything out of line.

I know part of the oil leak was from the timing seal, the rest of it I am not sure about. It could be from the valve covers, intake or rear main seal.
I pulled the valve covers, and I think the passenger side was leaking. I'll get that ixed up. If it is the intake I might do it, but if it is the rear main.....I will just add oil.

New question...

What are the best valve cover gaskets to use?
Rubber or Cork?

I like cork myself, never had very good luck with the rubber gaskets on the valve covers, and also i like to use the valve cover stud kit. makes placing and keeping the gasket in place a snap

You dont wanna pull your 465 with a cracked rib to change the rear main out? :D

I hate chasing oil leaks. I am still trying to find the one from my PS system:doah: .

I need new hardware for the valve covers anyway. The stupid torx bit stripped 6 out of 8 bolts out.
I have never seen studs...I was going to just use some bolts. I'll check the local parts houses.
