I can help with the TBI stuff. Just did a swap so it's fresh in my head. I'm guessing the switch in the cab before you start it is for the fuel pump?

I used to go to that one when I was a teenager. So awesome and so much stuff! I grew up in the next town over. Haven't been back for like 9 yrs but hoping to go back this year. The Jefferson county Fair was pretty good too!
Cool, we will be back this September.

Cool, I'm not sure what the switch is for but that makes sense. I don't think the guy I bought it from did the EFI swap so no info on what's up, The guy that delivered it said it needed to be timed and something about a brown wire. He didn't know the transfer case was falling off so yeah, kinda sketchy. My original plan was to delete the GM EFI and put a aftermarket one on but after a little research it sounds like the GM EFI is pretty simple so I figured give it a shot. I'm going to start with changing
All the fluids and filters, bolting the transfer case on, putting a new O2 sensor in, new battery then trying to fire it.

I spy with my little eye a Burt Chevrolet Badge. Nice score on a Colorado truck.

Good place to start.
Setting the timing is easy. There's a brown wire with a single connector that pokes out of the main harness on the driver's side between the brake booster and the bulkhead fitting for the fuse box. Disconnect it and set the timing to zero. Then reconnect it. Done.

I drained the engine, transmission and transfer case. I don't know much about automatics but seems to be enough wear particles in the pan. When removing the front shaft I noticed the spline wouldn't slide. That might explain why the transfer case is almost falling off. Maybe it had just tiny bit of a @swettysblazer incident. :haha:

I planned on taking the transfercase off and resealing it since it's loose and leaking fluid.

That trans fluid looks to be healthy. And that amount of particles in the pan isn't anything to worry about.

Pictures of the 84 at Jefferson Swap Meet the day I did the impulse buy. Felt dirty and unplanned, Like buying stuff at check out counter.

By Jefferson swap I assume you mean the one in Jefferson,WI at the fairgrounds?
Next time you go. If(you go to spring Jefferson.) Let me know. Maybe we can meet. I go most spring and fall.
If nothing else I go just to get out of the house, get some exercise and look at some junk.

I surely have no idea what you're talking about!

Doesn't appear to be any damage other than the threads stripped out of the transmission. :dunno:
