Flyin Rat Garage

Neerlandia....how awesome!

We talked about those items with the door opening...not sure what route I'll take right now, if any, but I appreciate the ideas/solutions to a potential issue.
I requested when installed that the doors only open from the inside, no outside latches or handles.

Well 6 months after breaking ground I have more workable shop space. This barn will primarily be used for anything that can be done on the lift.
The previously existing shop space will be for the dirty work like welding cutting grinding sandblasting etc.

That's a nice hoist, but I hate the safety release. You have to really lay into it to get both sides to release.

Your right, with my weight it's not a problem!

You say that now, but wait till the first time you start letting a vehicle down, and you only have one side released. It scares you when the far side hits the safety stop, and the vehicle flops to one side.

I've had that happen.
We tightened up the cable a bit and it releases good again.

Very awesome barn Dave! I'm jealous, in a good way.....

Have you bought a tranny jack, and a drain barrel yet? Get a drain barrel with a pump.

Well it looks like the Kalamazoo Home Depot is sold out of OSB.

Such a nice building. I agree with the idea of having "clean" and "dirty" areas, but I can also tell you that in the winter you don't feel like doing much work in an unheated space when you've been heating your main work area. Some days I feel like I spend as much time going between barns and workshops as I do on actual work, so there is real efficiency to having all tools in one place. A separate paint area is really nice so you don't get rustoleum fog on the vehicle you're wrenching while you paint parts.
