This is so soft I’d be worried about tearing through it with something like that. I’ll lay some high strength adhesive > thin foam >adhesive> flagI used a wire brush and scotch-brite to get it done the rest of the way from there. (If I remember correctly..)
can't be sure but it looks like the bracket plate for the bell housing braces are missing from under you motor mount buckets on the block. You'll want to source those and put them on before you stick you motor.

I bought mine from eBay seller. GM was offering them new up untill a few years ago.
I have the converter cover strut rods and brackets for an 86+ small block square body. Good shape, ready to install. $60 shipped to lower 48
