Brian package arrived today! Thank you so much! look for a return heading your way this week. thanks again and I will keep up the good hunt for your emblem.
That truck is so badass. I love everything about it. The fact it was built under the pressures of wartime is kinda neat too. Not much was built in those years for civi use.
should be starting in a few weeks . major frame repair is first, then i got work to do on the doors . inner and outter door skins ,regulator parts and door locks handle window cranks. i pickup this f700 last summer ,did a little tune up fresh gas sanded points and bleed brakes. it runs pretty good ! i bought it for the flat bed i paid 400$. doesn,t cover the cost of the iron to built one. if ever my flat head was to have cracks , i might use the 330 cid engine and 5 speed transmission.
got alot of work done on the frame. removing rivets is time consuming. the truck has a double frame, the inner frame liner was badly rusted. the inner frame liner went from rear front spring leaf bracket to rear front spring bracket. i decided to cut the inner liner at the cab crossmember. i shorten the frame about 19 inches,so now its about 159 inch wheelbase. it had been welded and braced with inner and outter plates. i,m pretty sure the rear end and rear frame doesn,t come from this truck. i will replace the inner liner with a new peace.
thanks! i,m a gm guy,but ford is second. i found the truck locally. i was looking for a project ,and its what i found. at first i didn,t really like the ford look,gm are alot nicer. its like the ugly duckling, its growing on me!!!
had parked the 76 f700 hoping to load some fire wood on it this winter. went up there this afternoon to make my trails. took a picture to compare snow!
