Frankenliner build thread. Up for sale.

If you ever get hung up like that again, try unhooking the control arm for the air suspension. Move it until it overfills the suspension enough to lift the hitch off the ground, lock your rears and drive out of it. May have to get creative to hold the control arm just right, bit much easier than getting a tow. Reattach the control arm and done!

I looked at unhooking the control arm. The truck was such a mess from the snow and sitting in mud. If they did not have the backhoe sitting there with a guy on it, that is the route I would have gone.

DOne that before :D
And I don't use recaps on my truck any more but on my trailer I still do for now, most likely the lst time though once I get my old drives off for new ones, they will go on the trailer and I will keep doing it that way.

More progress. Finally got moms 34 Chevy Coupe done and delivered, so back to the truck.

These are the scissor lift arms for raising the ramp deck. This will allow me to get a car above the cab. Everything is just tacked at this time. Should be able to run it through its paces by Saturday.

Madness. Cant wait to see it work.

Me too. Got all of the arms and hydro pics done.

Major #%^%##%^%#}#^^^ fail. Geometry is off. It wants to push back before it goes up. Ripped a foot of welds out.

So I went shooting.

Think I have a solution. Not quite as trick. But it will work.

So now it works.

Hung 2 harbor Freight 2000lb winches on the front. Lifts it as the rams go up. Put a snatch block at the top to double the power. Totally unnecessary as it turns out. then the rams lift the car the remaining amount to get the deck level enough to drive it on.

The chain fall is only for emergencies at this point.

Ramp deck as the Jimmy will sit on it.

Finally got to the point of driving the Jimmy on it today.

Only issue is, I can't get out without sliding out the window. Then can't roll the window up. New it might be an issue. Now I know it is. So a slight change will be made tomorrow.

Man, wish that lousy photographer could have got a picture of you 12 feet in air climbing out. Looks much sweeter in person

Sweet, that back area looked huge until you get some perspective with the Jimmy up there. Looks like the ultimate over the road seutp!

Perhaps crawl out the tailgate, maybe reverse up the ramps so you're getting out on top of the cab?

You could just go with Lambo doors! :thumb: :haha:

so many cool builds on this forum, but this is certainly one of my favorite ideas. can't wait to see it all loaded up with both vehicles and the trailer.

you going to bring the setup to BB this year?
