Frankenliner build thread. Up for sale.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::saweet::saweet::saweet:

kind of like the first time i almost got kicked off my 500cc 2stroke on a mid stroke back fire kick back . . . . :yikes::1zhelp::doah:

I won't say how many times I did that. Probably why I had my right hip rebuilt at 47 years old. CR 500 built. Turned it into a sand dune 3 wheeler back in the day.

No help here yet. But I am ready to stuff it in.
Sorry you're having so much trouble with this but once you've got it done you will have a bullet proof tow rig.
I can't wait to have the time to start working on mine.
I already have a new trans and clutch.
I just need to fix the damage from the accident and put a new turbo on.
Then transform the interior into an RV.
And possibly remove one of the drive axles.
No need for more than 20k lbs weight capacity on the rear.

Mark and Scott got here at about 10. With some clea re nice issues on the the clutch fork worked out, it went in smoother than I thought it would. Had to slide it back a 1/4 of an inch once to get the ears over the throw out bearing. Then it tightened down and we pulled the jack out.

Was trying to check the bearing movement and adjustment. Something weird was going on. The clutch brake has never worked as long as I have had the truck. This was the time to figure out why. The clutch rod from the pedal link to the fork arm was a cobbled together piece of crap. Now it is a shorter cobbled together piece of crap. But the clutch was still not right. When the needle was pressed, the arm would rotate the clutch shaft some, but then the shaft would stop as soon as the clutch started releasing?????
The clutch arm has and indexing bolt on the shaft. Notice the arm and shaft were not working together. Took the arm off because I remembered the shaft had a key way. Looked at the arm and yep, it has one also. Arm was never removed from the truck.

I cut a new key and realized at that moment that the weird piece of metal I found in the sweepings one day was the old key, that had been sheared length wise at some time. New key fixed everything.
They got one air tank installed and hooked up while I tried to find the second bracket for the other air tank. We looked everywhere. Even went through the reach. No luck. So I made a new one. Should have it all back together Monday. I hope.

Thanks again to Scott and Mark. This would have been a nightmare without them. The brotherhood at work.

I just don't know why Luke could not see that we did not have a key in the clutch arm.

It was nice that we had confirmation on where we were headed. And clarification on the shift shaft detent springs.

by the sounds of it you will now have to relearn how to shift the whole truck as you drive with all systems working . . . . :deal:

Meh, you only use the clutch when you are stopped anyway.

Glad you got it sorted!

Getting close. Finally got to work on it today. All of the air systems under the truck are done. PTO drive is in. Had to make a gasket because the closest one was 45 minutes away.

Just the PTO pump and drive shaft left under the truck.

Then shifter lines on top. Shifter. Driver's seat and little screws and stuff.

Tomorrow should be drive it day.

It was a car transporter. The cylinders will eventually be levelers and the RV size 5th wheel folds into the frame with a cylinder.

No. Just walked into the shop to work on it. Between packing up the core and taking it clear across town to the shipper, working on Eileens Corvette because of the Corvette car show today, Blazer Bash stuff and a neighbor with a fubarred car yesterday, I spent an hour on it.

Now stop bothering me so I can work on it.

I need a nap.

All buttoned up under the truck. Everything greased while I was under there. Was going to fill it with oil through the shifter opening. Just easier. Decided to test the shifter first.

No fit. :doah: The ball on the end of mine is larger than the new reciever. Even if it went in, in neutral, the shifter hits the cab at the back of the hole. Obviously there must be a change at some point. Spent an hour trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Machined the ball down to fit. Goes in but the shift shaft hits the cab. Calling Weller Monday to see what is up.
