Freddy 94 nv 3500 2x4 Cheep beater.

Might need a thermostat?
Not getting to operate if temp.
Cardboard was cut and installed.

Was about 20 f here today, not very cold. We are going way down with the temperature here in the next few days.

What is a good heat range for a Tbi 350?

Stat is at 195

should be able to hit 185-190 when it’s cold without cardboard I would think. Mine does in the teens.

Well this morning it just went click.
Kid swapped the battery with another fully charged battery. Went click. He took His Dodge to work today…. More crap for me to figure out. :doah::thinking:

Starter was frozen.

1/2 hole in the bottom of the starter I could see ice coming out of it.

The roads yesterday were wet and slushy.
I assume the hole is a drain but the hose is missing?
Had to jack the tuck up and hit the starter with a heat gun. Pain in the ass!

Think we should just plug or tape up the drain so it doesn’t happen again?

Threw some new parts at it today.
Reman starter and a thermostat.
We got heat! and it starts nice. No more going under it to smack the solenoid.
Suppose to be - 36 tonight. Plugged in and a big test tomorrow for it.’?
Changed the engine oil to full synthetic as well.

I do not miss that shit in any way.
Getting really old for sure.

Didn’t get as cold as they said. -32c right now. -30 at 4:30 when I went out.
Colby drove it to work this morning. I’ll find out how it started and how the heat is when he gets back home.

He has been driving this nonstop for the last couple of weeks. No complaints.
Thermostat did the trick for heat. Starter has been no problem.

Took the water tank out of the back so he could use the box to move him and his girlfriend to a different place while they are at college.

Replaced the water tank with a skid steer bucket of snow. The tank just made the box useless.
