Elco’s Are not my thing , they are cool and all I’m just wanting a car .

G-bodies are cool. While I can't find the pic of it right now, my other ride in high school was a 1978 2dr Malibu Classic, 305, 4-speed, F41, Posi with Bucket seats and floor console. To add to the crazy, it's a non-ac car with only an AM radio. Dad found it a Mark Jaguar in Denver where the original owner traded it in on a Jag. The car was 10 years old at the time and had a SMOKED clutch in it. It even had the honeycomb style hubcaps on it. We later swapped on the 15" Monte Carlo SS aluminum "N90" wheels which looks way better on the car than either of us thought. Swapped in a basic parts store clutch and Dad and I would take it out on nice days. Dad tossed me the keys so I could master the art of driving a stick the summer between my junior and senior year of high school. The part store clutch made it to August. But before then I was racing anybody from stoplight to stoplight dumping the clutch every time. The 2bbl 305 could hold it's own with an early 5.0 stang through 2nd. Beyond that it would run out of breathing with the 2bbl.

I do know of an 84 T-type Buick that a guy I went to high school picked up in Utah a year ago. It's a turbo, but 84 is the pre-efi blow-through carb style turbo with 8 miles of vacuum lines. It's a clean body and interior though. I could check if he's willing to sell as it's currently stuffed into storage right now. 101_0474.JPG 101_0475.JPG 101_0477.JPG 101_0479.JPG

I had an 84 T-type turbo for several years, it was EFI and the front is more rounded. That has to be an 82 or 83?

When I was 16 my Dad offered me a running 2.8L V6 83 Camaro or a bone stock 81 Regal limited with a blown up 3.8L V6 he bought for $300 and said we could drop a V8 in it. I have always been glad I picked the Regal. Especially now that I have 3 kids.

The aftermarket is awesome for them for suspension and chassis. The interior parts are coming around but I kind of had to customize that part. If you go with a Regal I think your options will be better for interior because you have the GN crowd pushing it. I have an entire catalog just for Regal/GN from Original Parts Group Inc. The only thing I bought is the carpet, floor matts, and sill plates but it's nice to know its there.

I definitely like the Regals , it’s Gonna come down to the right car for the right deal...........once I have money in hand lol.

I had a 78 monte Black with 8inch corvette rally wheels. Was a nice riding car...I drove it like a stock car! Fun!

I had the 78 short box the car and a 454... I tossed a coin and the truck won the prize! This was long before LS engines were invented.

C3 Vettes, never really considered them . Not really my thing but a decent trade deal came up for a 75 with 36,000 miles .

I would Assume this is not a super valuable car that one should feel bad about molesting?

I wouldn't feel bad about modifications on a 75.
Maybe because it's lows miles. That's that would be the only thing that would stop me on that particular car

That’s exactly where I am at on it , the miles are the only thing that makes me feel bad about cutting it up.

The two seater thing is kinda a roadblock as well ,

Well I really like C3 vettes, but I like the shape. Most of em are dogs. They are on the rise in value. Kills me I didn't buy one 15 years ago when they could be had for 2 grand

Good deals are still to be had , this guy is willing to trade me for a 99 Tahoe with 180,000 miles .

You still can get them dirt cheap. They still suck.

I'm going to guess that car was wrecked. Not necessarily a deal killer, but that front end is garbage (looks like they spliced it with another one, maybe 78-80, or perhaps another model?), the door gaps are WAY too big, and as is common, at least the drivers door hinge looks like it needs repaired.

To the sellers credit, he didn't say anything about the exterior. :)

I haven't dealt with what makes a Supreme vs. Salon, but that almost looks like it is a Cutlass Salon, not a Supreme (a step up, but below a 442)

Doesn't look horrible if you are looking more for a driver than a show car. And no vinyl top, yay!

Totally looking for a driver , doesn’t have to be perfect just not completely ragged out .

One of my friends recently traded a Kawasaki quad he bought over the summer for $500,for a C4 Corvette he saw listed on FB Marketplace--guy wanted it gone,it belonged to his grandfather ,he inherited it and it sat in his driveway for 2 years..thing isn't in bad shape at all either!..

I may be completely out of touch with reality, but with the obvious problems that one has, $3500 sounds awfully steep. It's one thing if it needs some TLC, but it's missing a fair bit of trim, the entire "plastic" nose is junk (as is the bumper IMO, since they decided to run screws into it, whether visible or not when the screws are pulled), and while those rear mains leaked due to the rope seal, for someone to mention it makes me think it's worse than just a drop or two. A leaky Olds 307? It doesn't get much worse than that lol, unless it doesn't run.

Also, that LOOKS to be a 3 speed. Which would be a TH200, and I believe that means it won't be a Salon. Not sure which way to go anymore, I generally like keeping vehicles as stock as possible, but realistically adapting a 700R4 is a better idea than the 200-4R, and I doubt anyone will recommend keeping a TH200...I guess if a 307 suits you and you can leave well enough alone, the TH200 might be fine.
