All my vehicles specs are in my signature,so I wont repeat them to save space--only change is my 79 C10 now has a 305-V8 instead of the 250 camelhumper six(RIP /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif)----it gets about 2-3 mpg more than the six did(!),between 14-17 mpg in normal city/highway driving.
My van gets about the same,13-17 mpg--but its been parked since last christmas--so I guess it gets 1000 mpg when it doesnt move!
The 74 K20 only gets 8-13 mpg, empty or overloaded--it had a 454 before the 400 small block in it now, actually got a little better mileage with the 454 by 2 or 3 mpg--it would consume about 5 or 6 gallons an hour when plowing!.
The 82 K20 diesel is the mileage king--it gets between 15-22 mpg,has plenty of tourque, pushes snow like it was a bulldozer, and you can climb right up the snowbanks at a 45 degree angle with no flodding, stalling or other annoying carb related issues(the AFB on the other K20 makes it hard to do hills or off camber angles--starts crapping out almost as soon as its no longer level!)--I think I like the diesel best--except for the smell and additional noise(I dont mind it much--but the members of the fairer sex sometimes dont like it--some girls love the machoness of a diesel--others hate it!)the only downside is its now 2.15 a gallon for fuel(as of today at least--I should fill it up--I waited a week to see if it would drop and it went up 25 cents a gallon! /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif).
How much are they raping you guys for diesel fuel and gasoline where you are??--I see gas is up to 1.99 around here for no name sub-regular skunk piss, diesel ranges from 2.15 to 2.29 a gallon, seems to go up every day.Looks like its going to be a rough winter for me this year--later today I'm going to go get some firewood--I use it in my shop mostly, but this year I might have to use the wood stoves in the house too--havent used them since the oil embargo of the late 70's,but I've kept them up to snuff in case of power failures to keep the pipes from freezing!. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

76 K5 Blazer. 6" lift, other then that, all stock. Carb needs rebuilt, MPG's ?? Unimportent, it's a fun vehicle, and well worth it. If I knew for sure, I'd leave it parked, oh wait, I've done that anyways for the most part.

I had a 71 burb 4x4 for parts, the side rear windows are still leaning up against the tree I put them there over 10 years ago! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Got Glass???.I have some interior parts too--mine never made it to the street, too rusty,so I parted it out--I hated to cut it up,it was a cool truck!.I'd love to find an older suburban panel truck 4x4 again, expecially the 55-66 ones--the coolest looking trucks GM made in my opinion, the 67-72's are pretty nice rigs too.Too bad you cant walk into your local GM dealer and buy one today, with the old body style and todays technology under the hood!. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
