good ultimate adventure rigs

Wrong brand, here it is...........................

78 Bronco XLT
High comp 429/C6/205
35" Maxxis Bighorns
4.56 gears
Limited slip, front and rear
4" lift

I drive it on 300 mile round trips.

That is one of the best looking Broncos I have ever seen! :thumb:

here's my '89. 2.5" softride springs, 35" bfgs, 4.56s. it was my dd until the rust got too bad and i bought my new cummins 3 years ago. it was mostly set up for surf fishing and light trail riding. now it's sitting in the driveway, gutted, waiting for me to finish restoring all the rust and repaint.

I really like that paint scheme, one of the best! All around good looking rig, post up when its done!

I guess mine sorta fits the bill. It's a 90 with 3" TC Softride fronts and flipped rear with 56's. I run a 1" body lift also. Right now it's on 37's and Walker Evans beadlocks. Has the usual D60 with a Powerlock, 35 spline all the way, Rockcrusher flanges, 4.10's, and crossover with hydro assist. The back is a 14 bolt with Detroit. Has a crate tbi 350, th400, clocked flat 241 with SYE and a 1350 High angle shaft. Front is a home brew square tube with a 1480 D60 joint at the case and 1410 on the axle. Full cage with PRP seats and a ton of other things. It was driven on the street and was a daily driver as needed up untill the end of June of this year. Now it is trail only. This pic was from before the 56's in the rear.

Your blazer is one of my top favorites on this site all time!!!! It is super clean and super functional!

Feel kind of bad posting this because its been out of commission so long. But what you're looking for is exactly what I built this for. Seeing that I've hunted/fished with 2 wheel drive open diff pickups for the last 20 years without issues, its a little overbuilt for my needs. But it should be perfect for weekend trips with just enough offroad capability to get me in trouble. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on the build and realistically will have it running in the next month or so.

tube bumpers / 4" spring lift, 4.10 3/4 tons with a detroit in the 14bff / 400sb/th350/np205 / 37" hummer radials.

couple of pics when before I tore the drivetrain and suspension out and in stock form on 32's. I was regularly running 300 mile round trips in it.

That thing is looking bad arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt even know you were transforming it like that. Have never been a huge fan of the chalets in stock form but yours is looking mighty fine! The DPM bumper is great too! I would really consider finding a chalet or at least the camper portion! Me and my girl have recently gotten very interested in getting some sort of camper and something that would fit in the bed of a vehicle I already have is even better. Can you link me to a build thread?

Mine should be pretty good and reliable, just need a few more beefy items like 35 spline stubs, rear disc brakes and a some ARB lockers

I'll get around to doing the interior nicely and then add some amenities like an ARB fridge and stuff like that.

Then maybe some 42" mtr's

that is a mean looking burban! You have come a long way with that thing, congrats man. The work is definitely paying off

heres mine, i try to drive it to work at least once a week. Not to street leagal but i pull it off somehow. Drives pretty good with 40s and hummer beadlocks. I always lean towards reliabilty but end up with lots of body damage and huge tires.

Thank you. The only bad part is the beatings are starting to show. Welds are starting to crack on the body and every time we hit Rausch Creek we add more dents. The bottom of both frame rails are bent up pretty bad and the gas tank that I put in a year ago is trashed. I guess it all comes with the territory.

I had the AV and then after I got married my wife made me get something else so I wouldn't kill the AV offroad, now I will hunt in the Jimmy and just use the AV when going to the creek, River and where sheet metal damage shouldn't happen....

Here's mine, still needs some stuff but drive it to and from even if it is 300 miles.

37" krawlers, 4.10's (that needs to change, twin sticked 205, TBI 350, TH350 auto trans, 14 bolt detroit, 10 bolt welded, 4 wheel disc, cage, sliders/nerfbars, bumpers blah blah blah.

Yours is also one of my all time favorites on this site, hopefully sometime soon I will be able to come up and wheel with you guys :thumb:

My K5 is prolly a little more than you are wanting to build but I am not scared to drive it 50-100 miles right now. It has a stroker Caddillac 547, t-400, doubler, d60, d70hd, 56" springs frt & rear, 42" tires.

My DD when I am not in the service body C-3500 is this Bronco. I used to drive it 80 miles round trip every day. It has an EFI 351 winsor, c6, 205, D44, 9" rear, 35" MTR's & 4" lift. I do most of my hunting out of this truck. It doesn't flex very well, but it goes anywhere I need to.

6.2/465/205/D44/14B/4.10's/38 SSR's. Detroit in the rear. Full cage, 5pt harnesses. Bumpers/tire carrier in the works. It scoots along real well and crawls all the places I need it to go... but then I just want to get a D60, Cross-over, OBA, etc. etc. etc.

Occasionally I take in on 600mile+ trips at 20mpg! :D The tires wear pretty damn good too.

Glad you posted yours colby because it is a blazer that would be ideal for what i want. Especially with the diesel and getting decent mileage. I should have just swapped in a diesel instead of doing tbi but, live and learn. :doah:

Longest trip was about 250 miles from Acworth, GA to Morris Mtn. Got about 15 MPG with a 6.2/TH400 and 3.23's with 37's.

Mine started out perfect for driving to and from the trail. 1/2 ton axles with a few upgrades, the efficient 6.2. Basic M1009 locked with a lift and 37's:

After beating all the sheet metal off it went to this:

P1100002.jpg

Still a great driver to and from the trail with a few more drivetrain upgrades like a 465 and 14sf.

Now its a trailer queen after its last face lift, new axles and sheetmetal along with a few more odds and ins:

I've taken mine on several 2000 mile round trip excursions and on two of those trips I wheeled it in moab and drove it back home 1000 miles.

It's probably overbuilt for how I use it, but I figure GM can use any extra help it can get in that department. :) It's geared very well for climbing junk (4.56 with a granny gear and a doubler) and has overdrive for low rpm cruising on the freeway at 75mph.

On the -flat iron mesa- trail in moab last year, I had to step on the gas as we were crawling down a steep hill because it was just too slow. The year before, I had to stand on the brake pedal to keep from barreling down a similar trail.
