Got any cool tools lately?

I was given $90 in Home Depot gift cards for my 60 leveling up. I had no idea what I was going to spend it on. All tools are ran through the business and are never "used for personal use". I needed to clean out some snap inserts for a couple of push on, push off switches in Fugly. So I bought this. I have not owned one in 20+ years.

I had $3.35 left over, I did not buy candy with it.

Nice purchase.

Congrats on skipping the sugar, it’s just as bad as the grocery store with the all specialty lighting for the soda and candy at check out.

Picked up this for $80 Saturday,, wasn't looking for it but it was a deal and only 10 minutes from my house so I snagged it. A new hose and nozzle and it should work good as new. A new one of the same thing from ALC is $800.

Thanks, I noticed the same thing when I saw it, not a typical one made out of what looks like a propane tank. This one holds 90-100 lbs of material with built in funnel. Has a large spring loaded ball valve lever at the nozzle. I found a brand new blast hose for $60 and the nozzles are about $15 a piece. Just need a cloth face hood, my blast cabinet doesn't require a face hood, but it also can't fit large stuff obviously. Though I might buy a few extra feet longer hose at $6 a foot, maybe 12 or 14 feet instead of just 10 ft like stock. The hose on it is all cracked from age.

If I ever find a need for my blaster, the beard will have to go. Respirator won't seal on bearded face

Are these items from your suppliers or sourced elsewhere?

I could use them too, I was recently gifted your blasters younger brother and I’m slowly trying to refurbish it.

Nice, even better deal than I got! :waytogo:

Actually, just McMaster....

Blast Hose (mine came with 10 ft but I'm making it 14 I think)

Pressure bypass hose, only need a couple feet of this...

Nozzle...

Although since yours is missing the "deadman" valve you might consider replacing that regular ball valve? Mine came with a big spring loaded ball ball valve lever that self closes when you release it for safety.

ALC (S&H) company still makes what looks to be the exact same thing in the USA, parts are listed at the bottom of each model, mine is exactly like the 40002, yours might be the 40001? Northern Tool sells some of the parts for cheaper than the ALC website...

Not much of an upgrade, but they really work. So much time saved. About 20 holes drilled and tapped in a few minutes. Through Aluminum panel into 11ga steel 1x2.

I was at HD looking at them. $25 for this kit. I have seen others advertised, but it looked like snake oil. So I never pulled the trigger.

Milwaukee rep was setting up a display. He walked over and asked what I was looking for. I told him my reservations about the coin for something that does not look like it would work.
He told me to wait at his truck when I was done getting my stuff.
I wanted a couple of minutes. He opens the back, digs around and handed me this set and a single 1/4-20. Said "toss them if I'm not happy. I guarantee you will not toss them".

I will buy more and recommend them. They have their place.PXL_20230315_001214407.jpg

I saw one of those at work and was like you. Said what a gimmick. I might have to try some.

I would of never thought you could drill or tap with an impact. They must be tough.

I do like Milwaukee tools, their headquarters is about 40 minutes from me, they employ a lot of people there, just reinvested a bunch of money a couple years ago.

You can tell by the short design, if the thread portion catches before the tip of the drill is through, something is going to break, or it will ruin the thread start. But if they made it long it may have clearance issues, and having 1" more capacity would require a 2" longer bit.

That is why the 1/4" max material, I assume.

Through aluminum panel and 11ga. 1/4-20. I am on an aluminum ladder drilling one handed. Goes through much faster when I have good footing.
