Got any cool tools lately?

Went to use my old Porter cable finish nailer today, and it gave me 2 nails and quit. Took it apart, can't seem to figure out what's wrong.
So I ran down to the pawn shop and found 2 rigids that look like they've never been used.
Figured my stapler was just as old as the nailer, and just bought both.
$110 for the pair seemed decent.

That seems like smokin deal

yeah i do that, but usually a battle. like the grease gets baked here in az. stiffens a bit.

Anyone reading this ever try or know someone who has one of those topside engine creepers? I just spent 2 days leaning over my buddies ford 6.7 doing a cp4 disaster prevention kit and weight loss products. My back and knees are not happy about it. Going to be doing a cp3 swap on my LML in the near future and and looking at a topside very seriously.

My dad and I built one out of an old outboard motor stand. Much nicer to work on something engine related. I did the intake manifold on my Blazer with it and have used it multiple times. Definitely a good buy if you are doing engine work.

I hate grease guns, all of them. No matter what I do they never work and are always a mess after having been stored for any period of time. Nowadays I usually go to the local oil change joint and slip one of the guys some lunch money to grease my stuff.

I've been thinking about getting one of those mini grease guns and just throw the away the leftovers after each use, theoretically less money lost. :dunno:

While I agree, I bought one of these and it's been a game changer for me:

Basic guns with the small tubes are infuriating, this thing has grease for days, still a mess though, but a 10x improvement, especially when you have many vehicles and heavy equipment.

I bought a pneumatic grease gun for doing track tension and such on my skid loader.
Pumping a fork ton of grease in after taking the track off sucks. So I wanted to hold a trigger and let er roll.
Turns out you have to pull the trigger once for a tiny bit. So I had to pull the trigger like 200 times :doah:. About half way through I took the grease tube out, put it back in the old gun and chucked the pneumatic in the trash can.
Money wasted and lesson learned lol.

seems to me that most of the problems relate to the feeding of the grease into the actual pump portion. should make a more positive feeding system. springs arent positive enough

Best manual grease gun I ever had was Lincoln, I was issued it new, didn't let anyone else use it. Kept it wiped down, hanging on my hobo cart with a coffee can under to catch the drips. Should Have "retired" with it but I left it at the last shop. Mean while my trusty gun I inherited from my father took a dump shortly after moving to Havasu, I have been through 3 different guns from the stores around here, none are worth a crap.
I want to know how these electric work out, how bad they leak, general consensuses.

That’s gravity fed, right? It’s expensive for a home shop but probably worth every penny not to have the priming issues of a typical gun.

I will say, anything "Lock N Lube" seems to be quality. Have a few of the grease gun ends and bought their complete tire inflation chuck. No issues with any of them.

I have been looking at getting this one.

Correct, and holds about 3 gallons of grease, i've been buying 5gal at a time which is also cheaper.

It was a PITA to get initially primed, but assuming you don't let it go empty your good to go and never have to worry about it again.

Absolutely recommend it.

I have this cheap bastid, and it's actually been awesome. Never had an issue except for the tip.
The stock tip sucks. So swap it to the lock n lube and it's a surprisingly good gun.
