I’ll be interested in how this holds up long term. I tried a few different pyro pens off the Mac truck. I like the one I have now but always looking for a better option.

Love mine. The different tips allow lots of uses. Great for soldering and removing shrink hose clamps.
I hate those shrink hose clamps, they failed on my freightliner in the worst position and I was lucky I had some spare worm gear hose clamps and caught it before I destroyed my engine.
Navistar used lots of them. They are a pain to get to in some applications. Yes they fail and have caused major engine damage.
Man I picked this up off the curb and it works! It works too good. Eager to see how long it lasts in the shop setting.
I bought this really cheap plasma cutter($250) after using a friend of mines. He's had his for a year or so and it works pretty well for what I need it for. I have alot of metal cutting in my future. Alot faster safer and more precise than using the death wheel too. I've only cut 1/8 in with it so far but seems to cut fine but a little clean up with the grinder is necessary. Comes as 220 with a 110 adapter
Are consumables pretty much universal or are they brand specific?
That I do not know, it does come with a couple of electrodes and nozzles. I don't know if rhey would fit on another plasma cutter
There are a few different styles. The china torches knock off the big boys. If you can get name brand, they work better and last longer.
I'm upping my fabrication tooling. A new MIG welder, plasma cutter and metal cutting saws. Now I need to hit up the metal supplier for some steel to build a cart for the MIG and plasma and a welding bench.

The quick pin holes for 90, 45, etc. are all close enough to be within a degree or so. But if you want super square you do have to use a small combo square to final set it.
Only downfall fall is the chips are sharp and can be tracked around. So must be cleaned up WELL before pets walk around the area.
I use a good magnet roller to do it. Then sweep just to be final.

So those of you with decent TIG setups. Is it still worth having a MIG around or does it become redundant?
I used both frequently. If the. Lient does not want to paycheck extra TIG time, MIG it is.
If you're doing your own stuff, what do you use?
I love mine to. The cuts are straight and clean,no melting or drifting that a fiber blade can do.
I only wish the saw head would ajust for anlge cuts and not the work piece
TIG if I have the time, or it will be seen.
I even MIG aluminum if it is thick enough.
Are these saws low RPM? I am wondering if their blades or the Diablo blades would work in a Dewalt combo miter saw.
They are. My memory wants to say 1100 rpm
