Got any cool tools lately?

What is the light?

I buy Milwaukee blades in a 25 pack off of Amazon. Cutting stainless goes through them fast. Cutting mild steel they cut a lot.

Every brad I have bought seems to have teeth fail at the weld.

sewing light. magnetic base. i use them everywhere.

Got the Quinn socket sets thast were on sale for 40% off at Harbor Freight a few weeks ago. got the 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 master kits. So far seems very nice and for the price I don't think there is a better option.

Drill sized air compressor.
This is what happens when you watch too many youtube instructional videos.
I cant even remember what the video was or what it was about, but I had to have this piece after watching it in use…
Its noisy, its cheap (but highly rated on Amazon) bulds up to 160#, and way easier than taking an air tank or a compressor to the track especially if you dont have any electricity to run one, like on an open trailer.
Also good for pumping up air floats for the pool and sports balls requiring air.
Turn it on, set the air pressure and let er pump.
$36, and it can use 20v Dewalt batteries as well.

Assuming this was Amazon. It’s exactly what I was looking for awhile back. Mostly wanted it for bike tires & inflatable toys. Thumbs up or thumbs down?

All done with a single, pre-used Hercules 10/14 tpi.
In about a half hr.IMG_20250325_113328354.jpg

It'll still cut, but it's not far off of retirement now.

Yeah. We got a steal on it in my opinion, but it has 180k+ and leaks oil pretty bad. So I'm just going to pull and rebuild it.
Just a hone, re-ring, bearings, and gaskets.
Project to do with my wife this summer. She wants to do as much of the work as possible.

Might go as far as a small bore and pistons if it looks like it needs it.
Probably don't.

I haven't seen many LS engines need boring even after 350k miles.
A friend sold his truck with the 5.3 with 500k miles, it only leaked from the rear main seal but still ran fine and passed smog in CA

@obijuank5 that's nice! I've got a homemade steel table that I've been thinking about adding a receiver hitch vice mount to so it's there but not there.

Being without an air compressor I decided to pick up a cordless impact. Got a “free” :surepal: saw too when I bought the big battery. Very pleased. It’s not going to out perform my IR 244, but it makes short work of lug nuts. Already used the saw on the truck and trimming trees. Picked up a battery adapter so I can run DeWalt batteries too. Side by side with a DeWalt 1/4” driver, on the same battery. Also lucked into a used light with a small battery (it’s the one on the saw in the photo). So far I’m pleased with the “team red” stuff.
