Got any cool tools lately?

I made my loser start switch with a momentary rocker switch and clamps from a battery charger. I've had it for decades.
same I have an engine start button shoved in 1" green stripe wrapped hose with some zip cord and a couple medium clamps. My Snap On button got stolen in collage

bought a set of Pittsburgh forge 1/2" drive deep impact in sae 6 point, some where in mid 80's, when I first started as a flat rate. Used as work sockets for 10 ish years then regulated to home side job sockets, then just to my home projects. Only ever broke the 3/4". My son has them now. I replace the 3/4 with a Snap On, but the rest are all the same mid 80's sockets.
they stood up to IR big torque 1/2" drive pneumatic gun of the early 90s, even a few 3/4" drive guns a time or to.

I have 2 sets of these both sae and metric.
One for home and one for my semi truck.
I also have the 3/4" set and the 1" to use with my big 1" impact.
More than 20 years, I did lose some of the sockets on the truck so I bought a new set a couple of years ago

I bought a 3/4 set of short impact PF awhile back. I want 2 sockets to keep in my dune buggy. While the buggy resided in the high desert at my brothers, the set came in handy up there as well. They haven't seen much work or any abuse. The 2 sockets, rolling around the 50 cal ammo can tool box, have accomplished severl trail repairs for some of my buggy companions over the years.

I imagine if I were still doing medium and big truck repairs thatly would worn out or broken.

Here is how I work. The skid steer is outside, so I roll the box to the door. I leave it back incase of rain.

I set a bench up next to the work area for parts. Old serving doors from food trailers work great.PXL_20251028_185811268.jpg

Rolling cart. All tools get cleaned and put away each night.

I just realized that my yard is a mess.

If I could get that much out of it I would lol.
Unfortunately for me to boost I have to swap pistons first, and I'm guessing that'd get expensive quick lol

After using one a coupe times cleaning power breakers at work, I bought the M18 wet/dry shop vac. At 2ish gallons and a 8ah battery, it's nice to clean vehicles, clean up small messes around the shop and working on little projects in the house. Super happy with it.

If ya’ll remember I bought the retractable air hose set up about 3 months ago.
I finally got it mounted today.

Mechanics at work said I could have any brake drum from the scrap bin. While in the bin, I found a piece of a landing gear leg and a piece of 3/8’s plate big enough to use on this.
I spent the day welding it all up. Works great, is mobile with a handcart. Doesn’t have to be bolted to the concrete as it weighs around 100lbs.
Works like a champ. You can pull the hose out 90* to the side and it doesn’t even budge.
Already used to air up a few low tires on DD’ers. Hose stretches to the street at the end of my driveway, with one hand. The ratchet is 4 distinct clicks, all doable with one hand.
WIN!

Interesting, I thought this would not be enough weight to make it work.
I am always sitting on a few of these drums

The one I had that wouldn't work lol.
Cray spring on those models. Which is probably what turned me off of them :dunno:
