Got any cool tools lately?

The nice thing about these or the ones I got is you can actually screw them into what you are working on. I’m working on an LS swap on my dad’s car and need a bolt to run into an existing hole on the block for a ground wire but I’m horrible at metric sizes.
I thought this was why they made bottoming taps?!

Got these a while ago. But finally got em out to start practicing and playing around with em.IMG_20251126_092827033_HDR~2.jpgIMG_20251126_092847742~2.jpgIMG_20251126_092903319_HDR.jpgIMG_20251126_092855737_HDR.jpgIMG_20251126_092843761_HDR~2.jpg

Also.... Sort of a tool. :dunno:

I've taken a bunch to Ace over the years because they have a sizing board that I can screw bolts or nuts onto. Always wanted to get one, because I've guessed wrong a few times lol.
I just asked the manager at Ace if I could order the sizing board. She said yes!
This was many years ago but I think I only paid $40 for it. She called up her Hillman rep and ordered had it in a week.

Not sure if it counts as tools or not, but, definitely tool holding.
4’x8’ peg board is mounted. 3 fir strips behind it, semi-equally spaced to provide plenty of staying power. Wifey is getting me lots of pegs to hold stuff.
Melinda was right there helping me where she could. Hanging that is not a one person job.

I have a lot of pegboard wall space. Love it :waytogo:

Paint it white or something before you hang stuff on it though. Makes it so much nicer looking and easier to spot missing tools

I always hated pegboard. I thought it looked sloppy and lazy. "Put the tool away."

This shop had 2 walls done in pegboard. There is no more room on them.:doah:

Understand, there is a huge Snap-On roll away directly opposite of the board. It’s completely full of 20 years worth of professional automotive mechanic tools, plus a Snap-On tool cart where I keep everything I use regularly, like wrenches, ratchets, sockets, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers. The board is for bolt cutters, cable crimpers, DOHC timing belt tools, pipe wrenches, giant crescent wrenches. The real oddball stuff that I still need access to once in a while.
So, it’s a good thing

Oh I guess no one told me that.
I have been building stuff like that by myself, not the easiest but I make due

I was looking at that same one. Figure out everything so you can be my tech support. :D
The black Friday sale was worthwhile. I picked this one up for 45% off.
If 3d printers are 1/2 the trouble pc paper printers are not sure it's worthvthe effort
I have had zero issues with either. But I prefer the laser printers for paper, not that I print much out these days... actually, I have had one repeating issue. I run out of paper at the worst times. Usually when I walked away and didn't pay attention to it.

Like most machines, there can be breakdowns and maintenance. The nice thing about 3D printers is you can print your replacement parts and accessories. I'm printing a waste tray over night tonight as the first real print. It catches all of the waste that is spit out during color changes.

It's from bambu labs

I've had my eye on the same one, but it's back ordered until January. Did it say it was in stock when you ordered it?

I have been wanting a lift for years. Everytime I saved enough money to buy one, the price seemed to just about double. I have continued to keep looking though and a few weeks ago came across a unicorn. A Forward DP10S 10,000 pound 2 post lift towers with a Hunter Engineering rigid 16 foot alignment runways. Plus a pair of Hunter 3,500 pound pneumatic wheels free jacks. All at a price less than when I first started looking at cheap 4 post storage lifts.

I drove the Cowdog a week ago 222 miles to look at it and ended up buying the very heavy thing. The turbo got used just about the entire 222 miles home too. It took me several days with just an engine hoist and floor jacks to get it unloaded. But, it is just about all assembled now. I have been test fitting vehicles to make sure I can get them on and off without issues. The M715 is a great work platform to let me reach the tops of the towers.
