Got me a Dana 60 *INSTALLED*

I'm doing the exact same thing you are doing right now and I'm in Loveland. I'm having issues with the brakes right now though. What type of banjo bolts do you have? 10mm or 7/16th/? I'm thinking I have a dodge axle as well, and probly a 61 cause I have 3.07s...

Nice man! I can give you a hand for sure... You got a build thread? Anyway, my ORD brake lines are for my '87 calipers, so I think it's the 10mm style. I just got some reman D60 calipers for an '87 K30, so hopefully they fit. If not, I'll exchange 'em before I grind 'em for my 15" rims.

Are you doing a full rebuild? What gear ratio are you shooting for? I've done a lot of research on this matter, so I'm sure I can give you some insight on the D61 (if you got 3.07s, it's a 61).

Well, I got the 60 in...

Here's my bushing work getting the spring width right:

Just a short picture summary I guess... I also got new Rancho RS5000 shocks and reused the Dodge shock mounts. I also had to get a funky u-joint from 1310 external clip to a 1310 internal clip for the Dodge pinion yoke.

Right now there's a bit of a vibration when going in 4wd. As you can see in the completed pic above, it was snowing in my 'hood so I figured it'd be a perfect time to try the 4WD. I think the angle on my shortened front driveshaft may be the problem. It spins easily by hand, but I think it may be binding up under load.

Looking good!

You got to love the length of a 465/205 combo, I ground the piss out of all the yokes in my front shaft and it still was binding. Eventually decided to go with 1350 axle shaft yokes and a square shaft, if that doesn't work I suppose I could get a doubler...

I still got stuff to do... Finish hooking up the air tank, compressor and switches. Also, alignment... which is kinda tough to test in 4 inches of snow.

I should also run over every zerk fitting with the grease gun again... there's like 8 of them!
