Its a 2001, Sierra SLE, 4.8, 4sd AT(not sure which one yet). 2wd. 84,000 mi. Has absolutely NO rust on body panels... I was under it and all over... not a fleck:waytogo:. Has a K&N on it from the PO. I never looked at the exhaust cause it sounded fine and was so into the rust search.

Its like new.... VERY well taken care of. all the dash, seats, floor, etc. look great. Has NO power stuff , just less to break right:D. We drove it over a couple sets of tracks and a few small potholes and it sounded like a new truck... Tight, no rattles, no clunking from underneath it.

only fault found is the went selector for heat/AC wont do anything. And AC wont even try to engage. I think that's because its set for the floor and wont change:dunno:

Plans are

1. FIX AC!!!! summers coming:haha:
2. Change every fluid because I can and don't know when it was last done.
3. Slight muffler change.. Not sure what yet??
4. Eventually (next tax season if not a scream deal sooner) Wheels n tires.
5. Speakers, sub and an amp. Nothing killer just for filler.

There's other stuff but all upgrade when current stuff goes bad type things.

only pic I've taken so far..... pick it up later today

Clean.

Throw some AT's on it and call it good.

tranny will be 4l60-e

and a/c on a lot of them is a bad frozen tensioner or pulley and fry the belt off the a/c only . fixed a lot of them this way with new belt and tensioner / pulley assembly .

yes there is a tiny belt down low pass side for just a/c . . . . :dunno: go figure .

and check for common water pump leaks at the pump to block gaskets . changed a ton of them also .

Could be a stretch belt for the A/C belt if so highly recomm getting it from GM as they will give you the tool in box to install it. Stretch belt means there is no tensioner for the belt.

school me on AT's:thinking:
Can you find out the interior color code for me Shady?
Would that be in the RPO codes? I can do that for you... where would I find the RPO codes by the way?:haha:

I looked all over underneath it and under the hood.... and it doesn't look like its ever leaked ANY fluids yet:thumb: The AC thing has something to do with the dash controls I think... the selector switch doesn't change where the air blows out of, OR the temp... cold/hot knob doesn't change a thing either. :dunno: blower works fine though:haha:

A/T's = all terrain tires I am guessing 4L60 get a transmission cooler and change fluid. RPO codes should be in glove box I think on your truck. Also does your blower motor work? Just a/c not working?

Gm did this around 2010 so he is in the clear of having a tensioner

I was thinking of the tranny cooler thing... May do that yet.. I'll look for the codes.. I for some reason thought they were in a different location on the 2000's trucks.... you'd think i'd know since I had an 05 less than a year ago:rolleyes:

Oh... and NOT doing the AT's thing. Maybe the ones that go on the good wheels when I get them.... But I plan on a set of full on winter tires for the factory wheels and a set of summer tires with as good of water traction as I can get in the right size for the aftermarket wheels.... Not sure what style i'll go with yet...

One of the BIG things I forgot to mention on my TO DO list is

Figure out how to prevent or slow down the rust on it since it WILL be driven in the winter.. I've seen the bed liner on the rockers thing but I don't want the black line there:dunno: May do that and try and figure out a black graffic to blend it in with

don't like the factory wheels enough to run at's on em all year:waytogo: they look ok, better if they're the chrome version, but just too NORMAL and everyday for me.... I sorta like that when im driving down the street and a buddy see's my truck, he KNOWS it's me not one LIKE mine:haha: theres at least 3 that I know of in my town that are the same truck. 1 for sure has diff factory wheels. and 1 I know is the same. not sure about the other one but I know its a diff truck cause its smashed on the bed corner and more of a champagne color.

I guess I just like to stand out:rolleyes: :haha:

these newer trucks just have a 30spl 10B rearend right? Mine doesn't have the govloc so id like to look into a traction adder... looked into the one for my Lincoln before I figured out it had one already. I'm thinking true trac or clutch type since its a street truck. be a few months out though... id rather have the burb running and do as little snow driving as possible with this one:waytogo:

If you are dead set on a limited slip look at the Detroit Trutrak (sp?). No clutches to wear out.

That said if you are wanting the cheapest option I'd go find a Lock Right or PowerTrax NoSlip lunch box locker. Years ago I put a NoSlip in my Rangers' rear axle and I loved it. It was great even in northern Michigan winters.

yeah the truetrak is my favorite option but I'm figuring I'm going to do some intentional spinning and sliding:rolleyes: so Im worried about spinning hard through a parking lot and catching a dryish spot with one wheel and twisting a shaft in half.....:dunno: not sure if that's a valid concern.... just my thinking

Abuse will break anything. I'd still put my money on the gear driven limited slip before I did a clutch driven limited slip.
