Gotta new build coming up!

A rollcage kit like RGV said. I also like the dash idea. Everything else I can think of would usually be a more custom piece.

I need some custom front inner fenders for my k5 :D

Cage kit is in the list, It will happen.

Had a set back on the rig. Searching for a different rear axle and then we will be moving forward again.

If you're keeping it street legal/driveable, a panhard setup would be sweet. I'd buy one.

Kert, just swing by again... I have a 1 ton 14FF available cheap ;)

Seriously though, I'd love to see a set of brackets to put readily available bucket seats in place of the bench seat of a regular cab pickup along with some kind of secure center console for installing radios, stereo, etc.

Everything suggested looks interesting. Subscribed. Could use a roll bar kit for the 76+ K5s.

I`d definitely be down for the dash, and most likely the tank. If you can get the seat mounts to put buckets in a p/u by payday, put me on the list :D

I'm down for both a dash and tank. I can wait on the dash but I'd sure like to put in a cool tank instead of my factory unit when the time comes (prob ~ Feb).

1. I like the idea of a rollcage kit for K5s and pickups. One that fits way better than those generic kits that comes in the Jeg's and Summit catalogs.

2. Another suggestion is some parts to put Rockwells under a K5 or '73-'87 pickup.

3. Full hydro and hydro assist steering kits would be another good idea.

4. In dash switch panels kinda like the ones made by 12voltguy.com.

5. Fully complete suspension lift kits that are designed for the wheeler in mind(I.E., flexy springs, all the necessary brackets, shackle flip kit, etc.)

6. Heater box delete stuff to make it really easy for someone to delete their rig's heater box.

I think you will all be happy with the list we have together. I'm not sure we can get them done fast enough though.

The dash is something we have made arrangements for some time ago. With the amount of enthusiasm in this thread we're pushing it ahead. We have a firewall/dash out of a Chevy mid 80's we are starting with. Factory sheet metal was removed and some photos take of the cut lines and so forth.

I'm shooting for this weekend on some fab work for the dash itself. Got alot of catching up to do before I can stop to do R and D so wish me luck.

On the fuel tanks, anybody had the opportunity to see what size they are looking for?

Awesome. Glad the hear the dash has gotten up there in the list. Looks like alot of people were definitely down for a dash, and iffy for the tanks. I personally would take the dash over the tank :wink1:

OE tanks are either 25 or 32 gal, iirc. For me, anything in the 15+ gal that still has a good departure angle would be good. I imagine average folks could wheel most of the day on 15 gals. :dunno:

15 gallons is probably more than adequate. Keeping it no lower than the framerails is the key. I will have my tank out later this week and can get some detailed pics.

My tank is out so I can also give pics and measurements (for '91).

I imagine the depth will also be effected by the size of the sender. If it's long maybe put it in the axle end and then taper up towards the rear.

I Want This.

Yes!

:d

Using a modified stock sending unit could help keep things simple. Its the same fitting on the top of the tank for all the years I have looked at (not sure about 1st gens). you could probably shorten them quite a bit before you run into any problems greater then the fuel gauge reading being off

I think most people would be happy with a gas tank in the 15-20 gallon range. I just want something a little shorter in height. My axle is close to the tank and I dont want to loose space with a tank on top of my flatbed
