ground wire guage

Well, now that we got way off topic.....which direction should we go now?

Fast Fourier Transformers
Barker Codes
Markov Chain Counters

I'm game

Here's a trick to bleed the current from the shield, connect only one end. Thats tricky in application because you have to create a labrinth, without contact, at the open end.
Backing up a bit, IME grounding both ends of those shields on a plug wire creates a 'ground loop' that will drive you crazy!

I'm calling it a "ground loop" even though that may not be technically correct, since that is sort of how it behaves.

So cegusman, did you get an answer to your grounding question?
cegusman?

I think so. :haha:Just went ahead and ran 2 o gauge wires from the battery to the motor, 1 + 1 -.

Depending on details, yeah, it becomes its own ground circuit(?) Not familiar with "IME", what is that acro for?

BINGO!

That's why the vast majority of shielded wiring in aircraft applications have the shield grounded at only one end. It's very obvious when an intercom wire gets chafed enough to ground the shielding against the airframe & make a ground loop - you can't hear s**t in the intercom from all the static & hiss. Or, if it's an antenna wire, the nav/comm gear won't receive or transmit for s**t.

I think it's "In My Experience"...
