"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

Welcome back! Now it's time to get to work on that doubler that you were dreaming and scheming of while you were over there. Don't deny it!! :D Now that you got the cage built to keep the kiddies safe, it's time for some gearing so they can have some fun!

Ok well I am back from my 7 month pleasure cruise... Been back for over a week, but havent even looked twice at the Blazer.

New Alternator installed (died on the last trip out) and battery is charging.

Front driveshaft is in more pieces than it is supposed to be so I have a plan for that.

All the spots with no paint look awful after sitting in the rain for 7 months so I may do a bit of corrosion control on the body and wheels.

First gotta get this thing started and go from there. Next trip is Jan 1st!

welcome back, and can't wait for the pics.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcomes!

Things arent great at home right now so trying to get as much quality time in with the kids as possible and get this thing up.

Driveshaft is on the work bench and ready for clean up and then welding. It didnt actually break last time out. It was a repair gone bad by me. I had replaced the yoke at the pinion end. There was a sleeve on the steel that I didnt notice so I only welded to the sleeve when I welded the new yoke on :doah:

Just have to cut that sleeve off, clean everything up and reweld the new yoke on.

Wow well its been awhile since I have been in here to update anything. Not much tech to update. I did end up getting my front driveshaft back together and have had nothing but problems with it. It appears I did not get the new yoke exactly square so I keep killing u-joints. Built a square tube front driveshaft and use that as my primary now. No more issues. Just been wheeling wheeling wheeling every chance I get. Me and the wife arent staying together. Ive moved out of the house so I dont get as much wrenching time in right now. Just take my boys wheeling every chance I get and can afford with gas prices

Some pics from the last few trips.

Ok edit. I dont have them on this computer. I will get them uploaded this week and add to the thread :waytogo:

Played on a ramp this weekend at our local club Easter BBQ. Scored a 980 forward and an 1170 backward. I was pretty impressed :pimp:

Also just ordered a WFO Springless arm and cap for the K5 and some of the CMPerformance machine Bronze bushings for the K5 and for the CC. The pickup will get the Sky arm from the Blazer and will finally have crossover. The death wobble has gotten worse and worse so I am gonna do the new bushings and upper shackle bushings. That along with the new steering parts should help. It will also be getting a brake job at the same time.

Good to see you working on stuff and getting some seat time in!

Really sorry to hear about the split.

Nice! I dig those WFO arms. They're what I'm using too, though I still have the nylon bushings.

Yeah and the price was right and the CC needs some serious love in the steering department. I am upgrading both trucks. I do wish WFO had a better price on the Bronze bushings so I could have just made 1 order, but they are almost double the price there.

Thanks guys, but the split has been a long time coming and is for the best.

Still no wheeling pictures uploaded, but I did get my 205 separated from the 400 and broke down for cleaning and paint. Also got the fixed yoke for it. Has the long 32 spl input so I'll be selling that for the short 32 spl input gear.

Have a line on my DD 32 spl 241 for $60 so hopefully I have that on Monday and I can make some progress on this doubler too.

And our local club had a BBQ for Easter last weekend. Mostly mud, but it was still fun. Borrowed an RTI ramp from the local 4x4 shop to play on as well.

You don't put doors back on in the winter? That is "hardcore"......

Dude you need to stop worrying about how your truck looks and just go out and get it dirty one time. :haha:After you scratch the paint the first time, you won't care anymore. :haha::haha:
