Has anyone machined a TH400/NP205 short adapter to mate with a 4L80 and D60 Question

Nice looking adapters!

Old thread revived!

:waytogo: We have these posted in the vendors section here, but haven't had much traffic from this neck of the woods. We regularly make adapters for dozens of combinations providing the output shaft splines mate up to the case. Also, we make spacers and clocking plates for the use of OEM adapters in none OEM applications. Feel free to hit us up with questions around you application as this is the majority of our business.
Thanks,
Mike

I'm looking to use a 205 on my 2x4 01' burb. The advise and pictures here are amazing!!!

Great tech tips.......keep this one alive!!!!

This by far had been the most informative thread i have found in my search to adapt a transfer case to my 2wd 4l80e. But, I have been offered to trade for this tranny. This will have a full spline output shaft and bolt right up to any 32 spline t-case (w/ adapter of course)??

Wow I highly appreciate all the info yall. Great read!!! One question I seen didn't get answered tho. Can you use the th400 tail shaft in the 4l80e?

2wd 4l80e to a 241 tcase. Used two 700r4 to 208 adapters. Been running it for a couple years now with no issues. Not the most professional setup I imagine but cheap and what I had on hand.

Revive once again! Thanks to all for great info in this thread.

Getting ready to do a 205 swap in the Boy's (@TooManyProjects ) SASed 99 6.5TD and would love to use Mike's Infinitely clockable kit, anybody heard from Mike lately? Seems he might be MIA. If not we might go with Northwest Fab's spacer to make it easy, even though we have the capability to machine the th400 adaptor down.

Now to just deal with the VSS.

What or where are you at with this? I know ORD offers a service to get a 205 rear output housing ready for VSS capabilities. I think it's around $200 for the job.

Still gathering info, might also be possible to use the internal 4l80e VSS? Of-course realizing it would be wrong in low range.

I've heard of guys using the 2wd port just to get by and/or to prevent from spending more money and time on machine work to the t-case. You can use this method instead as there really isn't a reason to check or monitor speeds in low range. Doubt anybody ever sees over 10 mph.

Further researching, looks like GM might have removed the reluctor ring on 4wd 4l80s after about ~1997. So we might just opt for the ORD mod to prevent issues during the swap.
