Heavy Half 91 Burb build

Thanks, the project is pretty much at a stand still until spring probably. To damn cold around here now and I don't have a garage. I didn't get the heads, I knew they would just sit in storage for who knows how long and I think if I want to get some serious power out of this thing I'll just drop in a new engine down the road.

My girl is doing great considering the circumstances, 9 more chemo treatments to go.

How does that thing ride with the AALs in the front? I've only heard negative comments about em, but i still like the affordable aspect of em for a modest amount of lift...

It rides like **** in the front. The rear is perfect. I'm giving them some time to see if they improve but I will probably swap them out in the future to a whole new leaf pack. They are cheap but are really ruff riding.

Got to workin on the Burb again. Put a new power steering pump and battery in last weekend and hoping to install my XJ steering shaft and CFM stuff this weekend.....Hopefully.

Picked up some bucket seats out of an 05 Chevy for 150 off a guy on Craigs List. I just got them cleaned up and I'll post some pics shortly. :waytogo:

Hopefully get them installed next weekend.

Im curious to see how they fit!

Me too. I've got something cooked up in my head on how I will mount them. I'm taking Friday off and plan on getting it stared. I also ordered up some new, much needed speakers to put in her. I got 3.5's for the front and 4x10's for the rear so they should all just bolt right in. It will be nice to get some decent sounding toons in that thing, the original speakers are junk. I love tax returns.....:thumb:

Cant wait to see those seat mounted. The stock seat belts suck!!

You got that right. I will be nice to have some decent seat belts. Now I've been thinking about adding some new buckets to the back seat and a jumpseat/console in the middle. Has any one done that yet? Some pictures would be nice. I plan on taking the 3rd row out anyway so access back there from the back doors shouldn't be a big deal.

I need a new set for my 99...like me, the previous owner was a big man...the seats are wore slam out :haha::haha:

Got new seats installed and picked up a Windstar fan for $20. I also installed some 4x10's in the rear.

Looks good! :thumb:

How hard was it to make it all work? We're gonna have to meet up one day and look over each other's Suburban's or just bust out some tools and wrench on 'em. Or as my wife calls it, men having a grunt and scratch session. :doah:

Thanks Snuff, It wasn't too bad, you need to get goin on that lift and I would be more than happy to come help. I have all the tools so it would be twice as easy . After you get that done we could do some trail riddin, I'll take my Toyota though.... I was a member with Magic City 4x4 club for a while when my bro lived here and I'm thinking about joining up again. Get that lift on, it will be a blast and you'll meet some equally good dudes.

Looks good! How is the hight on the sets? They look tall, but I think its the angle the pic was taken. I really want newer seats in my blazer...

Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL

Seat are perfect for me, I'm 5'7", Blazers have a different floor board so they won't sit up nearly as high for you. Look at THIS and it will give you a good idea. He did a great wright up.
