So, Michael, you have the 40k BTU model of the Summit heaters, right? I would like to know how hard it blows on its high setting from your prospective. Just mapping out what do do when I get one because I plan on using only two of the three available speeds.... I think.
I might need the smaller one like Paul's. Dang!

One thing that I have in my favor though is the use of the manual fresh-air vents on the kicks because I have a non-AC truck.I was thinking about this question a bit more today as I was driving into work in my comfy warm K5. Feel like maybe I should be more detailed to help you with your decision.
The Summit Racing/Maradyne heater controls don't control the heat temperature, it controls the air movement speed. So when I say when my truck gets up to operating temperature, Ive hardly ever switched passed the low setting is based on the temperature of the engine coolant (obviously).
I have the Windstar dual electric fan in my rig with each fan to kick on at different temps and a 3 way toggle switch on each fan (temp control/off/manual on). With this I can sort of control the heat temp based on how may fans I have on temp switch or manual (which is never in the winter time). So, currently I have one fan (normally 185* - fan on) in the "off" toggle position and the other fan that kicks on at 200* in the temp control "on" position. So, it can get nice and warm in the truck. I can control temperature by kicking on the 185* fan or cracking the wing window. I personally like being nice and warm in the winter time....spent too many times in the wood-line freezing my ass off to not take advantage of keeping it nice and warm.
If your rig is still on the clutch fan with a normal operating temperature of 210* +/-, it would be nice and toasty similar to my rig.
Hope that helps clarify how/why I hardly take my setting off the "low" position.

Thanks for bringing it up again because I've been thinking about it too. I still can't make my mind up on size. I may do the 40k like yours just because of that laziness/tube door combo and full-vert.
FWIW....if you didn't know....Im adding the "Maradyne" brand to my description because Im assuming Maradyne is the manufacturer or parent company on these heaters. Ive ordered another fan control switch from them when Summit didn't have it.

Knew you wouldn't be long getting a 205! I'm interested in the TBI improvements.Installed the Dynamic EFI EBL Flash ECU this morning. No pics of install cause it was window licking easy. Hadn't started my rig in 2 days so when I started it, I expected the typical 1200-ish rpm warm up high idle but to my surprise, it started at 600-700 rpms. It sounded so smooth. Only had time to test drive around the block this morning but the throttle response is noticeable and the power band is smoother and stronger. Hope to make some mpg gains but wont know till the next fill up or two. Also looking forward to playing with the programmability of this unit and also the using the lean cruise option.
Also found a good deal on a NP205 locally so I went out and picked that up this afternoon. Slowly building parts list for a doubler.

I'd be curious too. Mine ride great but I configured the packs myself out of multiple sets. I need to drive on my rear ones a bit more before I could make an accurate comment on those.It rides good also. Would like to feel the difference of these Alcans versus your 52s next time we link up for some wheeling.
