The only one ones I lost were in cold weather. Other than 567, 645 emd that had sucked the air filters into the blowers. The 8-92 on the shaker truck run a paper element, or oil baths. I have seen the wire in a oil bath set up migrate into the lobes and break the quill shaft. From the looks of the shaker truck I would bet it can go pretty good. I'd hate to have to juggy where it can go.

Stationary power? The biggest reciprocating I've been involved in is about 10,000hp. Although I seen one jump to about 8.4 megawatts faster than you would belive, with a govenor malfuction.

Ya, it powered one of our air compressors.

I've torn down a 4.3L TBI, just never got around to rebuilding it.

I'll be helping a friend rebuild an EFI 5.0L for is F-150 next weekend. Should be interesting.

I've done a cople chevy350s one 327 and an international 304 big block. But all I did is swap barings, gaskets, cams(sometimes) and on the 327 I put on some hp heads.
Not really a proper rebuild.Theres alot that can be said for what a machine does that you cann't do at home(unless you have a machine shop in your garage).Balance would be the number one thing I'd say.I had a machine shop build my ihc 304 the second time balanced it at .05 I beleave.Plus they shaved and bored eveything huge difference

You guys will like this.
I've been a liscenced mechanic for 11 years, since the age of 22. I started in the trade at 17. I have crewd on race cars, been wheeling and upgrading for years and have built a 70 Chevelle with a stroker.

I HAVE NEVER REBUILT AN ENGINE :eek1: :eek1: :eek1:

Helped build a 392ci sbf for my friends mustang
Helped build a 347ci sbf for a 64 falcon
built a mild 350 for my 77 c10 (which i miss)
just put a new head gasket on the 406 sbc
building a 350 for my trugy
& rebuilding my 460 before i stick it in the f250

Rebuilt a chevy V-6 & 350 in Tech School about 12 years ago. Rebuilt the upper end on my 455 Buick and A 305 Chevy. Getting ready to do a complete build on my 402 BB.

I have done a few 3126, 3406, C10, C13, C15 models, a 283, some 350s, a 2.8, 3.1, and swapped several 3800seriesII supercharged engines, and a 4.9 caddy into Fieros bay in the day.

I've been an automotive mechanic for so long now I can't even begin to remember how many I've totally rebuilt. Not to mention how many I've done partial repairs on.

The last one was my wifes suburban, She ran it out of oil just before christmas last year:mad: . I pulled it out was going to rebuild it, but, it was seized rock solid. So I had to give her the small block I built for my blazer.:(
So now my blazer is sitting in storage at a certain fellow members back lot with no engine or trans and my Big block caddy and sm465 both buried in my storage unit, because I'm moving. :(

I've done cam swaps, and other upgrades and tore down many a motor. and only patrially put them back together.
But now i am currently in the process of rebuilding 350 4 bolt main to replace the worn out oil burning 305 in my blazer.

Got a good friend a work with that is really showing me the ropes since him and his dad have built every chevy out there from stock to blown alch.

Friends are great when you have no one else to turn to

I've built a AMC 360, tore down mulitple SBC, put my crate motors intake on :haha: and next week I start to build my 383 :D

Yup, pontiac 350, 400, 455, chevy 350.

The pontiac 455 is running 11.9 in the quarter so far, gonna throw some nitrous at it this summer.

The 400 will be going into my chev pickup.

Not sure how i forgot but i have rebuilt some detroit diesels, 3406 Cats, and a cummins.

I've done a couple

A 283 SB for my 1960 Chevy and helped a buddy with a 357 for his '56 Chevy. Yeah, it was a long time ago - pre 350s. That's why if I have to replace the 350 in my Jimmy it will probably be a crate engine. It's hard to find a good machine shop here (or at least one I can trust).
