How will my K5/truck look with xx" tires on xx" of lift?

The Mistress

I'm still not totally finished, but I finally got most of the heavy mechanical stuff out if the way.

1983 K5 Blazer
XJ steering shaft, Crossover steering
Flipped rear shackles.
52" front springs w/ 6" shackles
Rancho 5000 shocks
37" tires/Steel wagon wheels
10.5"- 14 bolt full float w/disc brakes
Stainless steel braided brake lines
High Pinion Dana 60 steer axle
Rancho dual shock stabilizer
350 (very string, but unknown internals)
Q-jet/Performer RPM
TH350/driver drop NP241
Tubular Steel Manifolds (not cast), dual Flowmasters
New poly body bushing
New dash (cover lay), New door panels, nice interior, roll bars
(No lift blocks)

She starts and drives like a brand new truck even on the interstate.
It's not for sale but I'm curious what how much you guys feel it's worth?

Tire height??

How tall do those 37's actually measure? I was thinking of putting them on my build with 6" lift but I really don't want to trim. No off roading, pretty much a pavement queen.

4" Tuff Country HD front springs. DIY4X shackle flip rear. 37"x12 r16.5 Goodyear MTs (humvee tires) Minor trimming to the backs of the front fenders.

35" by a tape measure. I only had to trim the front fenders due to the axle being moved 1-1/2" forward with the 52" front springs. They never rubbed before that, but it also had a 3" body lift from a previous owner that I removed.

Thanks, I had a 90 Sub w/6" and 35s that cleared great but I never measured the actual height of the tire. Guess I could do the 37's with 6" and always add a 0 rate and body pucks.

I think a standard over the counter set of 6" front lift springs would do just fine. Mine was 4" spring 3" body with rotten rubber bushings, I twisted the crap out of it (mostly the frame) and never they never rubbed. Then I took the whole truck apart, and started over and wound up with a 1 ton. It never ends.

I think I will do the pucks and bushings reguardless. My new build only had 75k on it but it's an 87 so the rubbers are worn. I don't want the stiffness of an 8" arch. 6" it is and see what I got from there.
In the pic you posted is that a 4" with OR without the 3 inch body?

I made my own shackle flips, and shackles, all I bought was a cr@p ton of new grade 8 bolts. In that pic the rear shackles are 4", but I'm about to throw on some 6" ones to match the front shackles. I have replaced a LOT of bolts.

The 4wd will finally be working in the next couple of days and I can go get it dirty and see how long it takes me to break it. I need a winch bumper bad.

Looks real nice, real nice. When school starts for the younin, and I have some time to myself, I will be starting my build and build thread. Similar to yours, a military style truck but in the original doe skin tan. This is a great thread and site!

Is that a Step/Fleet Side roll-bar I see? What year is it for?

The roll bars are just a universal set of pickup roll bars. I found them piled up behind a pawn shop. The manager didn't know anything about them so he sold them to me for $10. I just shortened the rear bars to compensate for the step in the floor pan of the Blazer so they wouldn't lean forward.

I'm confuddled here... wasn't the tire size question directed at Muddermilitia? not the previous AR post?

Oh I guess you are right, I wasn't paying attention. Since I just have a phone with a broken screen I don't read every word. I just thought he was asking about my 37's so I answered. My bad. :doah:

nah, all good.. just saw he quoted his pic and I got stoooopid... :haha:

I just noticed that AR_K5 replied when I was asking about muddermilitia's truck, dang stoopid me. HAHA, oh well at least now I know what a GY MT measures to that is not a military tire.

Mine are 37" military tires, it should be noted they are roughly 1/2 tread when I measured the height with a tape measure.

Ok so your half tread 37" military tires measure 35", cool. Thanks, cant wait to get a set on my old school turbines.

My 37x12.50x16.5" military tires are a full inch taller than my 36x12.50x16.5" Swampers........
