How will my K5/truck look with xx" tires on xx" of lift?

Not sure if I like the first or last version of that better....

NICE as h3ll either way:waytogo:

Updated the stance of my K5, so I'll post the new shots here.

3" body lift, 2-1/2" spring lift, 1" zero rate in the rear, bumpers moved up to line up with the body after the body lift.
35" BFG A/T on 16.5x9.75 wheels(not sure of the offset, but it seems to be on the low side since the tires suck up under the truck)
D60/14BFF swap which I think adds a touch of height as well due to the larger axle tubes.

Where did you get those 35" BFG's in a 16.5 rim? I'm thinking of picking up some of those and throwing them on a set of 16.5 rims we have laying around to run on my crew cab when I'm not towing, that way I don't wear out my real nice 285 BFG M/T's...cause you know...I like have multiple sets of tires for all my rigs, haha

I got them at NTB... about 13 years ago. I had them laying around (I like multiple sets too) and put them on mostly for test fitment to see if I could get it in the garage with 35s on it. I don't think they have been made for years. I've got them for sale in the Classifieds, but shipping to ID probably makes it not that great of a deal.

@jeff in co do you have any rubbing issues on the front with those 35s? Sweet looking set up.

I've only had for a few days but no, I haven't felt any rubbing yet driving around on the street. I don't know about wheeling yet....I would suspect some might happen if I get the suspension moving around too much.

That is a very nice looking rig. I love that stance.

But, is it me or the pic? It looks like you have too much air in your tires. The outside and inside tread doesn't look like it's riding on the road as much as the center of the tire. As stated, it might be the angle of the pic but just curious. Didn't want to see you go through a set of tires too quick.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. They are only a few days old but after looking at the tread as I drive into garage, I don't see any outside contact on the tire. Installer set them at 38 psi, I'm going to drop them down a bit. I agree, looked a touch overfilled....

38 is way high. With a larger than stock contact patch you can go about 2-3 psi lower than the stock tires call for. Around 30 should be good. There's a formula I found in 4wheel&offroad mag that tells the corrected psi but I'm not sure how to find it online.

Dropped it to 30 this morning.....we'll see if it's any better. Thanks for the confirmation Shady, that make sense it was too high.

I think the corrected psi for the 33x12.5s on my burb came to 28. That's what I've been running anyway and it seems to have an even tread wear. Only about 6 or 8 thousand miles on em though. I'm interested to know if yours end up rubbing also. I planned on going with 35's if I ever do wear these out. 3.5" lift on mine should clear if you're does.

Yea, no rubbing so far. I haven't really hit any major bumps while driving into driveways....but so far so good. I asked the tire shop to test fit the front first. They looked at it and after mounting, they said "Yea, all kinds of room!" Of course I could see too and it had plenty of room lock to lock.

I'm down to 30 psi, and I might go just a but more.....

LOVE my toggle DRAC! Just a few clicks and my speedo is spot on again!
