Blah, that brings the suck. Love this build bigtime, I so wish I had the cajones to chop mine up like that.
 
Guys I've caught another bug, I want to do this with my truck

And I'm pretty sure my dad will trade his 502HO low compression engine for mine so I can put some boost on it

You have just done what lots of folks (including myself) do. See something cool and decide thats what they need to do. People like us have a tough time being "happy" with our rigs. Nothing is ever good enough. Its a perpetual struggle to perfect your rig for its main intended purpose, and then change direction mid swing when you see the next cool thing that you have to do to your rig to have fun.

I have found myself disappointed in my rigs when they were far superior to my rigs of yester year, yet at the same time, having a lot less fun. At a certain point, i realized, its not the rig that makes wheeling fun. Its your mindset. I had more fun with my POS first truck than i have with any truck since. The thing had a crappy motor, 6" lift, 3/4 ton axles, and 33's. And i had fun in it all the time! Since i realized that, i have tried to make my desires simpler in an effort to actually have a good time rather than being concerned about what my rig is or isnt.

Anyway, i say, if you have the money, do it! If its going to be a stretch, just go play with the damn truck! What was the truck(s) like that got you into this genre of vehicle? Did you have fun in it? Was it a 500+hp mud beast? Bet it wasn't. Think about that. You will never be happy if you are always chasing the dragon.

Youve got a pretty sweet rig, dont forget how fun it was last time you had it out. Its easy to forget what your goal is when the build takes a long time, believe me I know

Yeah I had already talked myself out of doing anything with the chassis, basically just do the engine initially, should be fun with 800 hp. The th400 is decently built and I think it should take it, need a new convertor though

Plus my dad isn't really happy with the 502, and I figured we'd get both engines dyno tuned while out

I figured it should do pretty good with the kings up front and 4 link rear

I want to do one at this track with just finishing up everything first

edit: this vid has some trucks more comparable to mine

This is at a place by where I go to school, about 2.5 hours away, theres some closer ones also

Basically just need to water proof the engine with some aluminum inner fenders

at 13:50 those trucks were half ton

Good advise from someone who seems to know!!!:waytogo:

All I would add to that is--- the company you share your wheeling and build experiences with are also a very important part of being satisfied...:bow:

Hope you ultimately have a good time with good people in whatever direction you and your Burb end up going.:popcorn:
